Vehicle Detail
Up for bid is my 1994 Caprice Wagon. Here is the story behind the car: This belonged to a family member for a few years. He hit a deer and did not get the bodywork done (see pics). Shortly after that, the power steering and water pumps went out at the same time. The car had been sitting at his house from November '08 until I had it towed to my house in July this year. I proceeded to get it running and detailed it only to take it to my garage and find out that it needs a TON of work to pass PA inspection! I'm not motivated enough to do it myself or have it done, so here it is. The good: LT-1 350 runs well, and the auto trans shifts fine. I drove the car to and from the shop (about 6 miles total). The paint is in very good condition. The car has been thoroughly cleaned by my wife, my daughter and myself. I installed the following new items: -Water pump -Power steering pump -Water outlet -Serpentine belt -Drive belt -Upper & lower radiator hoses -Air filter -Oil change w/filter -Wiper blades front and back -All new Prestone 50/50 antifreeze The alternator was tested and found to be working properly. The battery is 2 years old and holds a charge fine. No indicator lights are lit. Power seats, locks and mirrors all work. It has 3/4 of a tank of gas. It has a Class II hitch, and the wiring. Now, the bad and ugly: To pass PA inspection it needs: R back up bulb 3rd brake light bulb L front side light & lens (see pic) 2 front sway bar links Front brakes & rotors All 4 shocks L front outer tie rod end Front brake hoses 2 tires Rust repair in pass. side rear floor pan Rust repair in spare tire well (see pic) 1 rear brake line Complete exhaust (only half of it is there, and it's factory dual) Rust repair in R rear fenderwell (see pic) Rear brakes and wheel cylinders Battery tray There are some dings and dents, but nothing major. The hood is wavy. I took out the really nice Alpine stereo, sorry. I did leave the speakers. front and back. The interior is missing a right front armrest, the temp control knob and the lock for the rear floor section. The a/c blows warm. You need Vise-Grips to hold the rear hatch up. Both back windows are off track. It is what it is! Please don't bid thinking this is a driver-quality car! It needs WORK! Now, for the legal stuff: Please ask any and all questions before bidding. Title transfer is a MUST, and all fees and taxes are to be paid by the winning bidder. The car does run and drive; however if you choose to drive it home it is AT YOUR OWN RISK- and you will not use my tag to do so! I strongly urge the winning bidder to tow it home. I will NOT assist in transport or shipping; this is also the winners' responsibility. Out-of-state and /or zero-feedback bidders need to contact me before bidding, or your bid will be cancelled. A $50.00 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit is due via PayPal within 48 hours of the auctions' end. The balance is to be paid in CASH at time of pickup. I can hold the car for no longer than a week. On Aug-19-10 at 12:09:40 PDT, seller added the following information: While addressing the question listed below, I found an area under the drivers side rear door, in the rocker, that has rusted through. If any other things come about, I'll certainly post them.
