Vehicle Detail
1968 GMC LOW RESERVE For sale is a a 1968 GMC 3/4 ton Drive TrainThe pickup has a newer engine with less than 6,000 miles on it since being built. It is a 1989 4 bolt 1 piece rear main 350 block that had 40,000 mile on it when it was built. It is bored .30 over with flat top forged pistons 9.8 to 1 compression, blue printed balance from harmonic balancer to flywheel. New alternator and starter, engine block plug in warmer, with a HEI disturber. It has 194 cast iron dart heads with 64cc combustion chambers. Comp Cam (valve lift .447/.454). 600 Ederblock elec. choke carburetor. Dual true roller timing chain, full rolling rocker arms, dual weireland intake manifold, high volume oil pump, holly red elec. fuel pump. The rear main does leaks, very little when running. The engine starts right up and response nicely for the size of the truck. The engine is mated to a turbo 400 transmission that is equipped with a gear vendor overdrive. The tranny pan has a small leak were is was taped for the tranny temp port, never enough though where I worried about it. The rear end is a 10 bolt posi with 410 gears. The truck runs down the road as it should with out any problems. ExteriorThe truck was repainted in the early 90's from mint green to white, the paint is in very good shape, there are a few minor chips and scratches from being driven but nothing major. There appears to be no rust at the cab corner or kicker panels, there is though some bubbling on passenger side kicker panels since I've owned the pickup. The chrome on the truck is in good to fair shape, there is a few small dings in the chrome trim around the passenger front wheel , the chrome rims are pitted. Small crack in the windshield which I had filled to stop from spreading. It has aluminum running boards, rail caps, and tool box. New tires, rhino lined bed, under coated, and west cost mirrors. Interior The inside is in good shape there are no rips or tears in the seats. There is what appears to be a small burn the size of a dime on the driver seat (see pics) it was there when I bought the pickup, there was no ash in the ash tray and no smell of smoke. Has the bench bucket seat. All the gauges work except for the volt meter, and the after market engine temperature. The dash has never been cut for the radio, the radio doesn't work. There are a few nicks and scratches in the paint inside. The carpet is is good shape with some slight fading. The rear window has snaps around it. There is a slight run in the paint on the glove box. The ignition has scratches around it where keys have rubbed in the past. Door panels are in very good shape, the dash is perfect with no nicks or cracks. The windows have a slight tint. Over all this is a nice solid pickup for the money I have owned it for the past 5 years, and don't have the time to spend with it anymore, so it is time for Hector (the pickup) to find the a new home. The reserve for this truck is very low being well below $5,000. For more info you can contact me at kyd689@yahoo.com (719) 440-7495 Kyle "I reserve to the right to end this at anytime due to item being listed locally" On Aug-19-10 at 17:43:17 PDT, seller added the following information: The dents on the chrome trim are on the driver side not the passanger side. I also have the orignal steering wheel in good shape, with some other parts, along with the orginal MRSP and other paper work on the pickup.
