Vehicle Detail
Hello, I am relisting this fine vehicle with a lower starting price. I apologize to anyone who emailed at the end of the first auction and I didn't get back to you. I received an overwhelming number of emails. I have decided to relist with the new, lower starting price. I have also "supersized" the photos and hopefully that will help tell the story more clearly. I would encourage anyone who is seriously interested to stop by and take a look at the car in person. I have added a few notes from the last batch of questions: I do have both inner fenders. The car is mostly complete and could be put back together with the parts included. The title is clean and comes with the car. The floor does have a few rust holes. The frame looks good to my eye, but has not been looked at by an expert. I have 4 rims that come with the car. I have added a new picture to show the 2 not on the car. The other 2 are on the front in the wide photos. The car did not originally come with AC and only has the AC dash. The transmission is a standard replacement. I think that is everything. Thanks! Here is the original description:Hello, Up for auction is a 1969 2 door, Chevelle Malibu. This car has been in my family since it was purchased new. It was originally owned by my great aunt and is now in my mother's name with a clean title. There are only 88k original miles on the car. It hasn't really been driven much since 1989! Unfortunately, since it's been sitting for such a long time, it has a lot of rust and the gaskets are all dried up. About 5 years ago, I got the bug to get her going again. I got it running without too much trouble and drove it a bit, but the transmission was leaking fluid through the gaskets and the valve covers where leaking oil the same way. I replaced the plugs, plug wires, brake lines, pads and all the little stuff that it needed to run. I then started to strip it down for a restoration. It's been sitting in my garage ever since. The car is an automatic. It's a 2 door with bench seats front and back. It originally had a black vinyl top, but I pulled it off when I started the restoration. The plastic looking stuff on the seats, are the original vinyl seat covers that my great aunt had installed at the dealer! I have the original owners manual for the car. The green color is the original. My aunt was old when she purchased it and almost never drove it. I drove it for about a year when I was a kid. It's spent most of it's life sitting in my parents back yard or in my garage. The car was complete when I last drove it. The engine is the original 307 small block V8. I did replace the transmission in the mid eighties, when the original gave out. The car was in an accident in the 80s and the front left fender, hood, front bumper and lights where all replaced from a parts car. When I parked the car in 1989, the interior was in amazing shape and it ran strong, but even then the body was starting to go. Minnesota is a harsh place for a car. All the glass is good.I have buckets and boxes of parts, I want it all gone. I don't know what details people want to know about a car likes this, so I just took a ton of pictures. Hopefully they tell the story better than I can. Please feel free to email with questions and I will answer them to the best of my ability. I'm off work all week, so email if you want to stop by to check it out. Wether someone wants it for the parts or as a restoration project I think this car has a lot of potential!Pick up only. I live in Saint Paul, right on the border of Roseville and Falcon Heights, kinda by the fairgrounds. Thanks for looking!
