Vehicle Detail

You are looking at a 1965 Chevelle Malibu Super Sport convertible that is a true 138 code SS. This is NOT a clone, this is NOT a tribute, this is the real deal. If one cares to make it a numbers matching car I have the original 283, runs fine, and the power glide that the car came out of the factory with, and I’ll pack them along with the car for an extra $400.00. In the photos you will notice the attractive ‘stance’ of this vehicle which was accomplished by lowering the spindles 2” and air shocks on the rear. Along with the drop came front disc brakes from an 85 Camaro. The motor is a a 327 that came from a 67 Camaro that was a pro street racer and it has plenty of ‘get up and go.’ The transmission is a turbo 400. This classic muscle car was found abandoned in a storage unit in pieces and was put together and semi-restored approx. 3 years ago. In preparation for sale, in the past three weeks, it was restored again. The motor was pulled, the car was stripped of all its chrome, and was painted by Alan “Buzz” Smith who is a GM certified master technician painter who was ranked number three in the country and who won a number of national competitions. It was repainted with the original ermine white using Kustom Kolor paints with two base coats of white and three coats of clear wet sanded and buffed to a high gloss. This buffing and wet sanding is still being done but the car looked good enough to take photos for the ad. Photos were taken today, car was painted three days ago. The buyer will receive some touch up paint to repair any dings or rock chips you get while driving. Alan spent perhaps 80 hours block sanding this car to try and remove the factory ripples and restore the ridge line that runs from front to rear on both sides. It is a very nice paint job. Almost everything on this car is new or installed in the past three years with very little use (approx. 3000 miles). It has a new convertible top (frame was painted prior to installation), the windshield is new, the door panels are new, the arm rests are new, the seat covers (both front and rear), are new, all of the rubber around the front and rear windows is new, all of the weather stripping around the trunk, doors and top is new, the insulation under the front hood is new, and so is the trunk liner (trunk was painted as well). The dash and interior metal components were custom painted three years ago and still show very well. In regards to the chrome the front bumper is new, the rear bumper is three years old and may as well be new, the door mounted mirrors are new, the door sills are new, the rocker moldings are new, the trim around the wheel wells is new, the grill is new, the windshield molding is new, and the rest of the chrome shows very well or it would have been replaced. In addition, the American Racing rims are new as well as the Cooper Cobra tires (installed yesterday). The engine compartment as well as the under side of the car were all painted black three years ago and the engine compartment was detailed again while the motor was out. The motor was stripped and both the oil pan gasket and the valve cover gaskets were replaced. Once it was reassembled it was painted Chevy orange. Also, the Cal Custom valve covers were stripped, buffed and repainted the same orange. Nothing was done internally to the motor because it was rebuilt three years ago, runs like a champ and burns no oil. It has a competition cam with a Holly carb mounted on an Edelbrock high rise. Brand new headers were installed when the motor was replaced and they connect to a three inch exhaust that gives this car a healthy exhaust note. Give me a call at (719) 650-8911 and I’ll wake the beast for you. This is American Muscle without any question. This car is available for your viewing and if one wants to pay a local shop to look it over that can be done as well. There is nothing hidden. It is a beautiful car that has been carefully refreshed so that the new owner will be ecstatic about his/her acquisition. Before you click the button to bid remember that you are entering into a legally binding contract to buy the car. There is a $1,000.00 non-refundable deposit required within 24 hours of the end of the auction. Good luck bidding!
