This might be one of the cleanest lightly modified CJ5s to be found. A previous owner did a nice job restoring this Jeep. Everything was attended to so this Jeep is ready to be your daily driver or to be towed to your favorite vacation spot or jeep trail. There is no rust to be found on this CJ5. The paint is in very good shape with the exception of a scratch on the right front fender and a couple of cat scratches (see photos). The bumpers are custom with the front bumper designed to hook a tow bar (tow bar is included). The bumpers, roll cage, and rocker guards are painted a darker gray as a contrast to the metallic silver paint job. There is a nice use of chrome accents. Both the soft top and bikini top are near new. The plastic windows are clear and nearly scratch free. The interior is in excellent shape and check the photos of the floorboards, they are free of rust. The rims are in great shape and the 31 inch tires are new. The spare is the same type of rim and tire. With the exception of the original water temperature gauge, all of the factory gauges and lights work. Mechanically the Jeep is in great shape. It as the original six cylinder engine. It takes some cranking to get it started when cold but runs great. Once warmed up it starts easily. The transmission is a four speed. Neither the transmission nor the transfer case howl. The clutch is strong and does not chatter. The carburetor has just been rebuilt and the radiator is new. The brakes, which are disc in front and drum in the back, are in good shape but the brakes do NOT have power assist. This CJ5 does have power steering with a tilt steering wheel. So, although this is a very nice CJ5 it is not perfect. I am not sure how many miles are on this Jeep. The odometer reads about 5700 miles so my guess it has 105700 miles unless this is a replacement speedometer. At low speeds the speedometer needle jumps a little so I have a new speedometer cable that will come with the CJ5. As shown in the pictures there are a few minor blemishes on the paint. As mentioned above, the original temperature gauge does not work so it has an aftermarket gauge under the dash. The rear seat is in fair shape but could be recovered to better match the condition of the front seats. The seat belts for the rear seat need to be replaced. There is no radio in the Jeep. It does drive like a CJ5 so you have to be paying attention all of the time, but I have used this as a daily driver and if you like to drive CJ5s, it will not disappoint you. So what you get is a very clean and sharp looking CJ5 with new tires, a nearly new soft top, a bikini top, a tow bar, a set of tow lights with magnetic bases so that they can be mounted on the rear of the Jeep, a rear rack that fits over the spare tire, and an unfinished tool box designed to go in the back when the rear seat is out. A $1000.00 down payment will be due within 48 hours of the close of bidding. The down payment be made through PayPal. The balance will be due when the vehicle is picked up and can be paid either through PayPal or with a cash payment. The buyer needs make arrangements to pick up the Jeep within 2 weeks of purchase unless other arrangements are made and approved by me in advance. I have no way of making a delivery or meeting you half way so please do not ask. However, I will happy to work with a shipping company of the buyers choice to facilitate local pickup.
