Vehicle Detail
A very, very nice truck!! History: I purchased the truck in the fall of 2007 from the estate of the original owner. My goal was to restore the truck to it's original condition. Condition: I'm sure I'm going to forget some things but these are the highlights; Cab-new paint, newer instruments, new firewall pad, new floor liner, new floor pans, original head liner kept and covered, new wiper and ignition switches. All the switches work. Choke and throttle cables were removed and dummy knobs installed. New glove box liner. Original seat cover retained with new side panels installed, seat rebuilt. Orig. owner has installed a cab fan into the headliner-I moved it below the dash. New sun visors. Body-all the old rusted metal was removed and replaced with new metal. A magnet will stick anywhere. Three coats of Windsore White Omni 2k urethane on everything. New front cab mounts. Tailgate rebult and latch replaced. New radiator mount. New antenna. New front and rear windows and seals. Door locks work well. Original undrcoating removed and replaced with POR 15. Bed-The bed was rebuilt and sealed with 2 coats of Dura Liner. Suspension-New shocks and rear 8 leaf springs. New radius arm bushings. New outside rear view mirrors. New horn. Engine-The original 300CI was replaced by the first owner and replaced with a 1969 390CI FE (regular gas). New 2bl carb. (see removed choke cable). New belts and hoses. New heater core. New fuel pump. Very little needed to be done to the engine. New plugs and wires. The engine runs very well with absolutly no smoke. The garage floor is clean also. Transmission-NP 435 rebuilt by ATSI of Lawrence, KS in Nov. 2008. (I've probably put 200 miles on the truck since then). The truck had the rear end replaced sometime in its life with a much lower one so I replaced the driven gear to gain more accuracy in the speedometer. Brakes and tires-New cylinders and pads all the way around. New drums in the rear. Tires were repelaced when I bought the truck. The emergency brakes were re-installed and now work. New spare tire. Extras-Original 3 volume shop manual. Four dog dish hubcaps (excellent condition) that need to be repainted to match. This is a very fine truck and I would not hesitate for anyone to drive it anywhere. SERIOUS BUYERS ONLY PLEASE! IF YOU HAVE NO FEEDBACK OR NEGATIVE FEEDBACK YOU NEED TO CONTACT ME BEFORE BIDDING! Thanks for looking and please write with questions. On Aug-15-10 at 08:52:04 PDT, seller added the following information: Some of you have been very kind to write with compliments regarding the truck. Thanks very much. You never remember everthing when you list so I wanted to add a couple of items and some additional closeup pics. Additions- 3 point seat belts, new speedometer cable, new hood hinges, new gas cap seal, new pedals. The door access panels were covered to match the headliner. I was careful not to glue the covers to the panel face. You should be able to pull the covers without damaging the paint. Pictures-I've added some closer shots after realizing I was following the 25 foot rule. Hope these help.
