Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 1997 Corvette Coupe. I have owned this car for almost 11 years and have taken EXTREMELY good care of it. It was always garaged, driven responsibly, washed/waxed regularly, and well maintained. I have all the original paperwork, including build sheet, window sticker, and all maintenance records since it was new. I also own the car and have the title in-hand which means there will be no delays if you want to buy the car. The oil was changed regularly before it was needed with only Mobile-1 synthetic. I also performed other routine maintenance such as fresh transmission fluid, differential fluid, brake fluid, clutch fluid, coolant, etc. The car was just inspected recently and it needed nothing. The car is very powerful, reliable, easy to drive, comfortable, and has great lines. I average over 20mpg and can get in the 30's on the highway. There is plenty of storage space for luggage in the back (more than any other sports car that I know of). The interior still looks brand new and the body, paint, wheels, tires, etc. are also in excellent condition. There are only minor blemishes on the paint that you will have with any used car, but nothing that you will even notice unless you are looking specifically for these. I get nice comments about the car all the time and most of the people that see it believe it's much newer than it is. The car runs extremely well and is a blast to drive. Everything works as expected. I really hate to sell it, but after owning it for 10 years, I need to move on and buy a more practical car. If you want more information, want to stop by to see the car, or if would like to see more photos, just send me a message. Here's a very cool note about my car. The 2nd owner drove it to the Corvette Museum and the car was signed (under the hood) by the chief C5 designer - John Cafaro (I have photos of him signing the car). Try to find another 97 (first year for the C5) signed by John Cafaro!!! Corvette Hall of Fame Inductee, John Cafaro is well known as Chief Designer of the Corvette C5, responsible for leading the design initiatives for the Fifth Generation Corvette coupe and convertible as well as all production Corvette design from 1991 to the present. From 1992 to 1999, John worked on the C5-R Corvette race program, managing all bodywork design and graphic design packages for the Chevrolet Raceshop and GM Motorsports. As a result of John's many accomplishments at General Motors Design, his creations and works have received accolades for the Motor Trend Car of the Year - 1984 Corvette, Autoweek Magazine Award - 1997 Corvette Coupe, North American International Auto Show, Car of the Year - 1998 Corvette Convertible and Motor Trend Car of the Year - 1998 Corvette Convertible. John has been an avid Corvette enthusiast since first laying eyes on the Mako Shark on exhibit in New York in 1965. The Mako Shark inspired Cafaro to become one of the most prominent automobile designers at General Motors.
