1974 Silver Smoke model with only 20k miles. Matching frame and engine numbers. 91st R90S produced for the US market. Only 1,005 imported in 74. Original, unaltered bike except for the faring, which was replaced in 1975 and matches the paint perfectly. Starts, runs, and drives well. Recent tune up includes synchronizing the carburetors and the following: Cleaned and coated the inside of the gas tank; Installed new pushrod tube seals and associated gaskets; Adjusted the valves and timing; Replaced the battery, points, condenser, and plugs; Changed all fluids including fork oil; Mounted new tires; Inspected and cleaned the front brake caliper. Everything operational except the clock. Comes with the complete original tool kit, owner’s manual (very worn), Clymer shop manual, and a leather BMW tank cover. This bike is almost 37 years old and shows some wear but has not been abused. Has one small crack in faring and one in side panel, but no broken bodywork or tank dents. Please look at the pictures carefully for blemishes. Bike is a perfect staring point for restoration or to keep as original survivor. Full payment required within seven days of end of auction.
