Vehicle Detail
The Good - This is a one-owner Accord that has had two non-smoking drivers for its entire life. It was in a minor front end accident when it was fairly new (body damage only), was repaired, and has run flawlessly ever since. It is a comfortable, quiet car that gets 25 mpg in the city, 30 mixed driving and 35 mpg on the highway. Interior is tear free. I have all records of all maintenance throughout its life, since its purchase on 10/12/1991. Engine is original. Transmission was replaced at 180,000 due to blown 5th gear. Although a new clutch was installed at that time, the old one was still in excellent shape. Tires like new. Oil changed every 2500 - 3000 miles. Everything maintained to excellent operating condition. Equiped with front (only) air bags, 4 wheel discs, cruise, ps, pb, pw power remote mirrors, and sun roof. The most reliable vehicle possible. No leaks in sunroof or windows. The Bad - Just blew the counterbalance shaft oil seal. Needs the seal and timing belts, due to oil soaking. The engine will start right up, but cannot be run for more than a minute due to loss of oil pressure. This is about a $500 job, unless you can do it yourself. Parts are probably less than $100. Would suggest adding the Honda retrofit retainer so that this will not happen again. This sumer, air conditioning stopped working, and compressor seals are shot. Assume about $200 to have a compressor installed, cheaper, of course, if you can do this yourself. The Ugly - Standard Honda rot, at quarter panels, beneath filler door and around rear wheel wells. Some dents and dings along both sides. Slow rain leak into the trunk (possibly through tail light housing?) and sluggish operation of power windows. Driver's remote window controls function intermittently. NO RADIO. Note: This vehicle cannot be driven due to the substantial oil leak. It must be towed or trailered. Buyer must pay $250 deposit within 48 hours of auction closing via Paypal. Balence via paypal, cash on pick-up or money order. Please email any questions.
