Vehicle Detail
Well... I hate to see it go but I just bought a new bike and I am running out of room. The stink eye from the war department says that I must sell my beloved 1998 BMW F650. MY LOSS YOUR GAIN! This bike is a great example of a sturdy funduro. It has not been a garage queen. It has been ridden and taken care of but shows a few scratches and a small rip in seat......this bike can and will go ANYWHWERE. Amazing engine in the Rotax water cooled 650.Experienced riders have owned this bike and it has some nice farkles (aftermarket goodies) that add to its comfort and usefulness. THE GOOD:........ Services done by BMW dealerships including a full scheduled BMW service at 35,000.......Extra nice Pluig windscreen (aftermarket)....The best mirrors ever "Italoni" zero vibration.....Hepco Becker engine guards (new last year)...marsee tank bag, a little warn looking but it sure is functional.....Newer Metzler Tourance tires, I got a whole bunch of miles out of the last set and these are even better wearing.... New Battery.... Alaska leather sheepskin butt pad.....A clymer manual....I know I am missing something else I work for a national motorcycle magazine and I am always adding something to my bikes so I am sure there is something I am missing. OVERALL A FUN BIKE WITH LOTS OF MILES LEFT IN HER. THE BAD...... It has some scratches on the left side of the fairing and tank (see pictures). The scratches never bothered me but if you are looking for a perfect cosmetic example than this bike is not for you.....The odometer is broken, the trip meter and speedo work fine but the main odometer stopped working on a cold day last year and I have never fixed it (It would cost about $250 and it is just that important to me) The title will say miles unknown because of this......I am a chain guy and I like good chains and change them out before I need to, with that said it will probably need a new chain in the next 5,000 miles. THE DEAL..... A nice workhorse that will go and go but it MUST go from my stable to keep peace with the motorcycle mama of the house. I will have another BMW thumper someday but now you get to own and ride a bulletproof funduro. These are never going to go down in value I think this is a perfect time to get one of these at the bottom of its value. It will hold steady and start going up in value but all of the financial slack has been taken out of the risk of owning one of these. I am selling this with a make offer option and you can get a very nice deal. So make it happen!
