Thank you for viewing our listing, we are now celebrating our 32nd year in business here in suburban Indianapolis. Although we are an authorized automobile dealership, we are first and foremost auto enthusiasts. This 2004 BMW R1150GS Adventure is my personal motorcycle which I am selling at no reserve! It must sell. I cannot tell you how much I have enjoyed owning and caring for it. It is such a joy to ride and really is a comfortable cruiser on the highway and even has the capabilities to tackle some pretty rough lonesome backroads too. This is the same type of bike used by movie star Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman in the made for TV documentary entitled "Long Way Round" on their epic ride around the world in 2004. I have decided I do not have time to ride it like it deserves so I need to let it go.Even though I just used this bike for mostly highway trips, this bike is set up to be ridden just about anywhere. It has factory ABS brakes and heated hand grips. It is fitted with the 7.9 gallon fuel tank for extended range, wire mesh headlight protector, factory fog/driving lights, extended travel front and rear suspension, cylinder protectors and engine guards. It comes with two seats and two windscreens. One seat is the original factory Adventure seat in the unique yellow and black color scheme that matches the bike. I have used it sparingly and it is in excellent condition. The second seat is also a stock adventure seat covered by a solid black Alaska Leather fitted sheepskin which is cool in the summer and warm in the winter. I bought this second seat used with a minor tear in it and repaired the tear with a vinyl repair kit and then covered it with the Alaska sheepskin. I found myself using this seat most of the time since it was so comfortable and allowed long distance rides without the typical fatigue often felt with stock seats. It comes with two windscreens, the stock adventure screen and an extra tall AeroFlow screen which eliminates any helmet buffeting on the highway. I have included a few photosof the bike with the stock windshield and the tourance tires so you can see how it looks set up like that but be advised that it is currently set up exactly like the top few photos with the aeroflow tall winsdcreen and Continental TKC80 tires. I fitted it with a master cylinder mounted Ram Mount for my GPS. I am leaving the Ram mount but not including my Garmin in this sale. You could mount many different accessories on the Ram mount. It has two accessory electrical plug ins for operating accessory items. It has a powerlet quick connect lead for battery charging and another one for cell phones or radio connections and charging. It also has the full set of BMW aluminum side and top cases which can be quickly removed and are locked on to the bike for safe keeping. It has the BMW tank bag for additional storage and the clear map pocket. I have spared no expense making this bike the best it could possibly be. It has just received and passed a complete mechanical inspection and received the full BMW recommended 36,000 mile service at my local authorized BMW motorcyce dealer. It also just received a new clutch, clutch slave cylinder and rear driveshaft pinion seal. It has a new set of Continental TKC80 knobby tires. I'll include the used Metzler Tourance highway tires which are a bit quieter on the highway. The Metzlers are well worn but could safely provide a few thousand miles of additional use if needed. This bike is ready to be ridden cross country or around the world! My goal in having all of the work done was to take my dream trip to Alaska. I did way more service than it needed but I wanted to make sure it would get me anywhere I wanted to go and be as reliable as possible. I have come to the realization that I just cannot take the time off for such a trip. The bike is in great condition and has just a very few minor marks on the top and side cases from storage and a couple of marks on the drive shaft enclosure and one very minor scratch on the black plastic fender extender adventure beak up front. It has never been dropped and the paint is excellent. This is an outstanding bike in every way and comes with the factory tool kit and owners's manuals along with a special BMW R1150GS adventure touring instructional video. This bike would make an awesome "around the world" ride for somebody. I just wish it could have been me!
