5/4 Ton, 318 V8, 727 auto transmission, 4X4 with power disk brakes and power steering. Dana 44HD/60 differentials Truck was purchased two years ago from ALPHA HEAVEN INC. who specialize in buying and selling government direct military 4x4 trucks (alphaheaven.com). This particular truck was the best (No Rust Ever!) of all the government auction M880's ever aquired and the one the owner held back for himself. They applied the new correct military specification/pattern 3 color CARC paint, seat cover, floor mat with sound deadener. The man that bought the truck from ALPHA HEAVEN INC. was a 50+ year old engineer and avid mopar collector. It was just one of his dreams to own/upgrade the best original M880 he could find. Upon driving the truck home he undertook a complete mechanical servicing with upgrades as he felt necessary to make an extremely reliable, long distance truck capable of hauling, carrying or trailering any reasonable load. What follows is a partial list of his efforts; The New Process gear drive transfer case was correctly converted to part-time with new lockouts. New king pins, master cylinder, wheel cylinders, calipers, rotors, pads, brake hoses, u-joints, dual exhaust, alternator, Halogen headlights and all other bulbs, belts, filters, cap and rotor, spark plugs, wires, fuel pump, water pump, thermostat, radiator, heater hoses, heavy duty military battery. Flushed automatic transmission, new seals, filter & fluid, extra deep trans. pan for increased fluid/cooling. Both axles and transfer case have 75W-90 full synthetic oil and new seals, engine oil changed every 2000 miles with Rotella T 10W30 with 1 quart of Lucas additive, new tinted windshield, windshield rubber and wipers. New CD player & 4 new speakers. Humvees 37"x12:50 Good Year radial tires on stock rims with excellant matching spare. Upon completion he travelled several states during the summer months under heavy load without missing a beat. 55-70 mph with excellant MPG. Zero mechanical issues! The engine has never used a drop of oil between oil changes and does not smoke at start up! This is a great truck, shifts great, four wheel drive works great, a turn key truck that you can get in and drive wherever the road takes you with confidence.
