Vehicle Detail
Here’s the story on this one. I bought this car from a friend in pieces. He got it disassembled about 1975. It has been in California for at least that long and has no rust what so ever. It was one of three cars the person before him bought to build a V-8 powered hot rod TD. The frame number is TD 18812. It only has a Moss Motors repro body tag on the firewall. The engine number is XPAG 19328. My intention was to re-assemble into a driver, not a show car. I replaced the wood that was bad and repainted the metal myself. It looks good but is not show quality. I took the engine apart and replaced bearings and rings. I fitted a pertronix ignition and it seems to run fine. All the chrome has just been polished though it needs it again already). The brake system has been replaced and seems to work fine. It has a new plastic coated (not cloth) wire harness but still needs some trouble shooting with the lights. The transmission was opened and looked good so closed and resealed (at least as good as a British car can be sealed). It has new tires and all the hoses and lines are new. It has only been run about an hour total. It has been around the block and up on a trailer to go to DMV for verification. I just started it after sitting for three months and fired right up and backed out of the garage. The car has a clear California title & license plates. It is currently un non op status. Because I did an assembly as a driver I think I can only sell it with clear conscience as a project. A person that wants it as a show car would have to start all over. If you want a driver then just finish the interior and go. The seats, carpet and interior pieces from Moss go with it (biscuit color). I have the top bows and a set of side curtains that need recovering. The car is in Moorpark, Ca. (93021). The buyer is responsible for pick-up and shipping. A $500 deposit is required by Paypal within 48 hours of close of bidding. Here is your chance to finish a nice TD and go out driving.
