Up for auction a 1978 Triumph Spitfire. It has ONLY 40,274 ORIGINAL MILES. It has a FACTORY HARDTOP. The car does runs and drive great. Engine - Basic tuned (Spark plugs, Oil changed, Coolant flushed, New DOT 4 brake fluid, Clutch fluid, new Fuses) Tested Alternator, replaced Fuel Pump, 12 Volt Coil, Water pump, coolant fan clutch, Cleaned Carburator. All SMOG equipments are intact. Replaced fan belt, replaced engine valve gasket, valve cover is sanded & painted color to match it with the body. Replaced oil cap, battery is full charge. Pevious owner installed a manual choke(original auto choke parts will come with the car). All engine side covers are intact(see photos) I replaced the passenger's side. New coolant sensor. FUEL: - Restored fuel tank(pictures to proved), replaced fuel lines, new neck fuel filter, cleaned fuel sender unit, replaced all fuel ring gasket. TIRES & WHEELS: - All four brand new tires. All five(5) wheels are sanded and painted inside & outside, all hup caps are painted and all lugs are wire brushed. WEATHER SEALS: - All new door seals, window outer & inter seals, wheel arch seals, hood rubber guide pin cones, both side fender seals, door rubber seal check straps. INTERIOR: - Completely removed from dash to floor carpet - replaced new premium carpet kit(Pictures of bare floor shown no RUST), wire brushed every single bolts, nuts, screws of seat belts bolts, wood dash crews & etc...re glued both side rear panels, wire brushed all seat rails. Recovered both door capping and dash pad in black vinyl no cheap plastic looks. I removed the three pieces wood dash, sanded and applied a thick clear coat. I replaced all guage rubber seals ans polished every single bezels even the cig lighter bezel. ALL switch, guages, signal lights, wipers are working in order. Heater is working in order. Radio is also working fine, previous owner add two speakers on door panels for better sounds. There is a small tear on a hand brake console, so I used black tape to cover it. TOPS: - I has a nice factory hard top, clean & no tear on headliner(all hardware is included). Soft top is serviceable but it need clear plastic windows, & some buttons. It has a very small tear on top OR you just buy a new one on Ebay for $240.00 from UK. It does come with extra stuff 1). Tonneau cover 2). Soft top boot cover 3). hard top boot cover ( all these extra are original and its in perfect condition YES PREFECT) Oh..The hard top rear glass window need to be reinstall by pro(I'm not good with glass) EXTERIOR: - The car was painted about 20 years ago in a same factory color(vermillion = red orange ish). The color is still nice but the paint surface are not smooth/ baked on hood, rear trunk lid and some areas due to heat(can't tell from five feet, I have not yet done any wet sand, buff or wax). No large dents or bondo any where, no signs of major accident. All chrome bumpers are nice & no dents. it has a chome front license plate holder. NO RUST even in most common area like battery box(It is nice & clean). Seats - It has some small tears on cloth but not on vinyl(see last photo of seats). I has a pair of custom fited seat covers w/ vinyl pockets for magazines. The car is sold in AS IS and WHERE IS condition. Even though I did most of the works or described the condition of the car as much as I can but this is a 32 years old classic car so therefore; you or your mechanic should inspect the car before bidding.
