Vehicle Detail

Up for bids here is my 94 Corvette.. I have owned it since 2005.. It is a Texas car originally.. When I set out to buy a C4, I new I wanted a southern Vette.. because even know a vettes body can't rust, its frame and sub structure can, and its very common on northern climate cars that have not been meticulously garaged and maintained. So I found this car on ebay in Houston, Texas by a dealer.. Paid the buy it now, flew from NY to Houston, and drove it back home.. I knew I was going to do a lot of high performance stuff to it, and again, I didnt want to start out with rusty stuff. this vette has never been driven in the rain or snow since!! So right off the bat this is an advantage for you.. you dont have to fly down south to get a good one.. its already been done for you!! I did get screwed by the dealer, though, because even though it ran and drove perfectly on the ride back home, after about 50 miles into the trip, eveything started leaking like a sieve.. the rear main was leaking, the tranny front and rear seals were leaking.. it was a mess! called the dealer from the road.. mustve went thru 7 quarts of oil and tranny fluid on the way home, watching the oil psiguage like a nut! I screamed and cussed about what a shiester and scumbag he was, to absolutely no avail guy simply laughed and kept hanging up! I should have known better.. when I went to the dealer, he had it all spiffed up, ready to go, and after looking at it I was so exited about it I wasnt thinking straight.. He says, since you can see that the car is better than I described, why dont I fill out the paperwork, and you can sit here and use the computer, leave good feedback for me, and I'll do the same for you, right now! Ha! shouldvr realized something was up, but was so preoccupied with the car and how good it looked, I actually did it.. Please folks.. dont ever let yourself get screwed like this.. dont fill out feedback until you are sure the owner has been honest about his description!! I eventually did calm down, because my intent from the start was to take the engine and trans apart and redo it with all upgraded high performance goodies. and its not uncommon for vettes to have leaking problems.. I know..all of mine have... .. I've had 3 C3 vettes and my current C4.. the worst thing you can do to a vette is let it sit for long periods of time unused.. engine and tranny seals dry out from the incredible heat vettes produce because they're so tight and compact , and when not used frequently and being wet with oil, when you start them up, the dry seals rip apart.. when you know about vettes you expect this..I wasnt so much pissed at that than I was about the sellers total dishonesty. it's a good thing I can do all mechanical work myself.. If not, it wouldve cost me thousnds to have it fixed! anyway, enough about that! After I got the car home, immediately out came the engine and tranny.. took the engine down to the short block and was amazed.. there was absolutely no measurable wear.. at all.. the cylinders still had like new cross-hatch on them!! My original intent was to rebuild the block, but there was just no justifiable reason to do it! these cars call for mobil 1 synthetic in the spec book, and the original owner must have followed it correctly.. I have redone many engines, and I have never come across one like this with zero wear.. the factory aluminum cylinder heads were in perfect condition.. valve guides, no wear, valve seats no wear..at all! I did send them to the machine shop to be crack tested, because i didnt want to spend the cash to have them ported if there was any problem.. but, the heads came back perfect, so i did have them ported, and the valves lapped. All high perf fel pro gakets and special viton valve seals.. the set was almost 250 dollars! These lt1 motors have a cam driven water pump that steals even more power than regular belt driven ones at high rpm, so I installed a high output CS racing electric pump, and Painless relay and wiring.. cost about 250, but mfr. claims can get back 12-20 hp! I also installed an SFI race certified silicone fluidamper balancer.. expensive, but man, not that the engine wasnt smooth stock.. but this damper makes it smooth as glass.. it is a noticable difference.. I also installed a new optispark distributor.. these fail very frequently on lt1s, because when the stock water pump fails, it pisses all over the distributor, killing it.. expensive repair.. but not with this engine, it cant happen because of the electric water pump with the ceramic seals which has over a 10000 hour life expectancy! installed new roller lifters, comp cams pushrods, and upgraded to full roller rockers.. stockers dont have them, expensive, but theyre gorgeous, strong , aluminum and blue anodized. installed new set of exhaust headers to replace the stock cast iron manifolds.. also installed a full front to back dual chambered exhaust, with chrome dual slanted rolled tips..over 1000 dollars, but worth every cent! the car sounds incredible..low burble at idle, and killer at full throttle! The EGR and air pump systems are removed from the car for additional performance.. I didnt just rip the stuff of in some cheesed up fashion.. I bought professionally milled block off plates so it looked right.. the engine light is still set because of this, but obviously nothings wrong, and I have no problems getting inspections in New York, because the car is older than a 96.. just thought I should mention it..I had the tranny totally rebuilt with all high perf parts.. Transgo boost valve, serious shift servos, full shift kit, all new shift solenoids, new raybestos clutches( extra strong), stiffer clutch springs.. everything! and then topped it off with a new B&M 2400 stall performance converter. When I got this car back together, man it was NOTHING like it was stock!.. not that a stock 300 horse vette isnt hellstrong to begin with.. but it was nothing compared to what it is now!! If all of the manufacturers claims as to power their parts produce is correct, the car should have over 400 hp..sure feels like it!! First ride.. my buddy and me in the car, go to pull out of driveway, give it a touch of gas like usual, tires just spin like crazy, my friend keeps saying cut it out man, youre doing that on purpose!.. but I wasn't.. i'll tell you this car took some serious getting used to.. the car just runs so good, like a beast! You really got to watch the gas, because unless youre already moving along, dead stop full throttle results in tires just ripping loose, tires blaze again at 1-2 shift.. you learn quickly to respect the throttle in this car.. or you will just be sideways.. traction is a serious problem with this car now, even the huge street tires that are on there now just dont cut it.. this car could really use a good set of drag radials! the transmission is as awesome as the engine.. again ..nothing like stock.. rips and snaps thru the gears like crazy.. the difference between this car stock and how it is now is just incredible. I also just replaced the rack and pinion unit.. again, a very common problem on C4 vettes, most dont make it to a hundred thou without needing one, and a very expensive repair if you cant do the work yourself!, and something else you wont need to worry about! The stock suspension on these cars is incredible.. if you havent driven one its hard to describe.. its like nothing else on the road.. fiberglss transverse springs, all forged aluminum control arms, 5 point rear link, and the car is slammed to the ground.. Its amazing, dudes will spend over 5k in a heartbeat to upgrade the suspension on their camaro, or mustang, and it cant even hold a candle to how this car grips...STOCK!!( I know, a buddy of mine did just this, and was dissapointed.. I told him you shoulve sold the camaro, and put the $$$ toward a c4 vette!!) as long as youre not blasting on the gas hard in a turn, you simply cant break this car free.. 45-50 mph, almost a hairpin turn, turn the wheel, youre slammed to the door panel locked in by the g forces.. the car just is stuck to the road like glue, If you dont already know what these cars can do, you should read up online what people say.. I have been building cars for 20 years now amd I can say without a doubt that the C4(84-96 vette) is the most undervalued performance car bargain you can get out there! you can get these cars all day long for 10k or less.. although probably not with all the upgrades this car has done to it!.., and theyre amazing.. I know it seems as though Im crazy for the car, and I am.. I wish to god I didn't have to sell it, but my current financial situation absolutely mandates it! In my opinion, this car is absolutely worth my buy it now, many times over.. my reserve is even way, way less than the buy it now( sorry, I dont give out the reserve to be fair to all bidders), but it is ridiculously low for this car.. Do yourself a favor though.. .. dont lose this car by being outbid at the last minute to save a little coin..I've had this happen to me when I was a bidder, and when you really want it.. it sucks!! This car must sell, so I've priced it to make sure it sells! The car is amazing, but I want to be clear and straight up front.. this is not a brand new, or showroom condition car.. it has the typical scuffs, scratches, paint blemishes,) etc,and what you would expect from a 16 year old car.(since it was a texas car most of its life, the weatherstripping is rough, sun cracked, etc. ) Almost everyone who sees the car thinks it is in excellent condition for its age,(especially the interior with the exeption of the edge of the one seat), and says its a gorgeous car.. I just want to be honest with my bidders... I dont screw people.. Its the reason my feedback is 100 percent excellent! Bid with confidence.. And while you certainly are not obligated to see it in person before you bid.. it is a substantial purchase, and I would recommend it.. everyone has their own idea of whats great and whats not.. I personally never buy anything on ebay for more than a few hundred bucks without checking it out first in person.. it's just a good idea.. I have been on ebay for over 10 years with the same account, I have sold cars, trucks ,, RVs, and even an airplane on ebay.. again, bid with confidence, theres a reason my feedback is perfect.. My payment instructions are simple..I will contact winning bidder immediately after auction ends via email.. Buyer to email me back quickly as possible to make arrangements.. I will not ship this vehicle, Pick up the vehicle in person,Payment in full, in cash(no checks, including bank checks), within 3 days at end of auction.. If you live close by, I may even drive it to your house after youve paid if you need me to.. we'll talk about it..please no games.. I know it sounds obvious, but please dont bid unless you absolutely have the cash in hand ready to purchase.. Oh, almost forgot, car just passed NEW YORK state inspection about a week ago, so that helps if youre from NY! Also, please remember that the time to look and see if this car is right for you is BEFORE you bid, NOT AFTER.. I CANNOT Stress this enough.. If you are the winning bidder, you are legally expected to purchase, your bid is a binding contract!, not a license to come see if you want the car after the auction is already over! I am sorry to be so blunt about this, but there are some folks, perhaps new to ebay or whatever, that dont understand this..I had a problem a few years back with a guy who was the winning bidder on an rv i had.. guy wins the bid, comes to my house, thinks the rv is great but says" its just a little to big for me, I'll have to pass on this one, sorry... I explained to him he had ample time to see the rv in person before he bid and won.. he said he was new to ebay, and he didnt know that it worked like this.. well, whatever, I dont know how he couldve not known this.. ebay policy is very clear.. but I did decide to let him off the hook, didnt report him to ebay, paid the auction fees out of my pocket.. I wont do this again!! its not right!, but thats how it happened.. again, sorry, I dont mean to seem mean or nasty or anything, just want to be sure everyone who bids understands how this works.. If you would like to see the car, email me and i'll be happy to set it up for you! if you have any specific questions about the car email me.. good luck and thank you for checking out my auction. On Jul-24-10 at 18:21:09 PDT, seller added the following information:Oh, I almost forgot.. youll notice one of the wheels is a bit cheesed up with clearcoat peeling.. I bought a 2 new good front wheels with excellent tires a couple weeks ago, and will give it to the winning bidder. On Jul-24-10 at 19:45:46 PDT, seller added the following information:also, a/c needs to be recharged every summer, always loses its charge over the winter.. just replaced steering rack with a new one, steers tight like new, but reccomended should get realigned after a new rack installedOn Jul-24-10 at 19:54:12 PDT, seller added the following information:sorry, I did so much to this car, i forgot about a lot of extras.. It also has installed a new accel hi perf fuel regulator, a new 255 lph race electric in tank fuel pump, hyperstat low temp thermostat,Throttle body flow enhancer,K&N hi-flow air filter, gm performance parts new timing chain and gears, new serp. belt.. Like I said Ive done so much to this car that I forgot about!.. I'll keep posting more stuff as I remember it!!On Jul-26-10 at 10:15:24 PDT, seller added the following information:Another important thing I forgot.. I purchased a complete 2 book set GM factory service manual for the 1994 corvette specifically.. nothing like a regular chiltons manual or something.. probably over a thousand pages, and let me say, it has everything down to the last nut and bolt! not just wiring diagrams, but illustrations of every angle of how wires hoses are laid out, everything!.. very expensive, I paid 160.00, but I must say, if you work on your own Vette, worth every cent!!.. I will give it to the winning bidder! On Jul-26-10 at 10:32:17 PDT, seller added the following information:Typical GM.. headliner cloth sags, never bothered me enough to fix it.. its something you never see unless youre looking up! drivers int. door panel perfect, but needs one of those little plastic hold pins on the upper part, probably 1 or 2 bucks, just dont know where to get one! new bosch platinums, tinted windows. sorry I keep posting, its just hard to remember every little thing! On Jul-27-10 at 14:54:21 PDT, seller added the following information: Since this vehicle is for sale locally, I reserve the right to end the auction early.
