Vehicle Detail
Intro:Here is my mean and clean classic 83 Mustang GT! This car is truly gorgeous all around and a blast to drive. I really don't want to sell it but I recently acquired a job that requires me to drive clients around and this unfortunately isn't the right car for that. The car only has 92,680 miles on it and comes with a freshly rebuilt carb done by a professional carb shop in my area ( I have receipt). It also has an upgraded rear end which makes this car fly! Not much can touch this bad boy especially on the highway. I'm not sure exactly what the rear end is as it was installed by the second owner. The car truly drives and handles amazing. In fact it drives better than a lot of newer cars I've driven. Not only that, this car gets a ton of attention wherever I go. It is a true head turner and a girl magnet :) It also gets respect from everyone being a classic fox body mustang in such good condition, as you don't see to many of those around. The car is all stock minus the rear end, and flowmaster exhaust which sounds incredible! I'm confident the winner of this auction will be very proud to own this car. This car is perfect either as a daily driver, a good platform to start a racing/drag build, or a classic to be restored with very minimal money and effort. Drive it daily. Admire it daily. This car is good to go! Be sure to check out the videos below in the "Videos" section. Exterior: 7.5/10The paint shines and sparkles beautifully as you can see in the pictures. The hood stripe shows some fading but this is typical for this car. I couldn't find a single scratch or dent on the car. It does have some very minor dings here and there on the roof from the previous owner parking it under an acorn tree. There is also one tiny ding on the hatch and on the top portion of the front fender. All of theses are hard to see in picture and hardly noticeable in person. There is about a quarter size rust spot/paint chip on the rear driver side quarter panel. The left taillight has a crack in it that does not effect its usage. Its hard to notice. The passenger side door/window trim has some tiny minor paint chipping. The headlight housings have some small discoloration dots (probably from bugs) that could most likely be buffed out. The wheels also have some minor discoloration spots but are still original and look good. The windshield has a circular crack in it in the upper right corner on the driver side from the previous owner's son hitting it with a baseball. It's been like that for nearly 2 years and does not effect visibility nor is it anything to worry about. The lower left portion of the rear bumper has some slight damage. I'm probably being a little harsh with this rating but I just want you to be aware that being a 27 year old driven car, it's not perfect and I try to disclose everything so you know exactly what your getting. I've tried to take pics off all these blemishes. I installed a locking gas cap but I also have the original. Other than that the car really looks great. The paint still looks new and besides the minor paint chip, the car is RUST FREE!!! Interior: 8.5/10The red leather interior looks very good. There are no rips or tears to be found. The carpet, headliner, and dash are in very good condition. It appears that the previous owner put a plastic dash protector/cover over the original dash. The little plastic piece at the bottom of the drivers side seat belt cracked, no big deal. The passenger side sun visor broke off ( I still have it). The shift knob is just a little loose but doesn't alter driveability. The previous owner installed racing belts in the back seats for his children because he felt the original ones were not protective enough. The original belts are still there. He also professionally installed a stabilizer bar behind the rear seats to hold the belts and give the car more stability. All buttons/knobs/lights are intact and working. Sometimes the map light is a little figity. Other than that the interior just needs a good cleaning and it will look close to new! Mechanical: 9/10The car is mechanically sound and has no major issues. Most importantly, it has an AWESOME running engine! It has a newly rebuilt carb, new air filter, new fuel filter, and oil change less than 500 miles ago. Battery is young and healthy and cables are fairly new. You might want to change the spark plugs in the next 6000 miles but this isn't urgent. All of the gauges read at factory settings. The battery amps show perfect charge, the oil pressure is perfect, the temperature is perfect. As with all stangs of this year, it does leak a little oil from the engine area and rear main seal. This is so common I was told that this is normal. Neither of these are significant enough to be of any concern. I put maybe a quart of oil in between oil changes. Obviously with carb engines to start it on cold starts, you have to pump the gas a couple of times and start it a couple of times to get her going. Especially on those cold mornings. Again this is only on cold starts. Once its warmed up you don't have to do this. I'm only mentioning this because some people might not be familiar with how carb engines operate. Otherwise, shes never let me down and always fires right up! Also on cold starts the car idles a little high until it gets semi warmed up. Once its warmed and you rev it a little the rpm drop back down. Also within this warm up period the engine runs a little hot for about a minute or so then drops back to normal and stays there. This could all probably be tuned out. I have no idea why it does this but it doesn't effect anything. The tach doesn't work but I'm sure you could install a nice aftermarket one for fairly cheap. Heat works great and the a/c system works but does not blow cold. Besides these minor issues this bulletproof stang has plenty of miles left in her! Performance: 9/10This is where the car really shines. This car drives like it were a new car. The engine is smooth and crisp and the 5 speed shifting/transmission is smooth, very sporty, and clean in every gear every time. Shift throws are short which makes me believe there might have been a short shifter installed at one point by a previous owner. The car handles great and stearing/turning is very smooth. The suspension is a little bouncy at times and a little creaky at low speeds but still good. The car stops good and safe but the brakes might need replacing in the next 6000-8000 miles. Rear tires have about 50% left and fronts about 70%. The flowmasters make it sound like a racecar! They sound AMAZING! And with the upgraded rear end, it has the performance to back up the sound! This car is very fun to drive and showoff. Videos:Take a quick test drive with me here: Startup: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzZpnmXdfk0 Driving: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4CqzUS5wRaI The pics and vids are great but don't do true justice for this car. Amazing looks, sound and performance are obviously best experienced in person! So don't hesitate to set up a time for a look over and a nice long test drive. Other:I have the manual and build sheet for the car as well as other various documents. The car will have some more miles at the time of sale as it is still my daily driver. The auction winner is responsible for arranging shipping or pickup of the car. The car is sold as is with no warranty. The car is also for sale locally so I reserve the right to end this auction at any time. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Thanks for looking and happy bidding!
