1981 Honda GL 500

Up for sale is this 1981 Honda Silverwing Interstate. I am the second owner of this bike and have most of the history. It has never been down. Always garage stored. Here is the bad - the right side mirror is not attached. It was loose when I bought it and I seldom use this side mirror. So, I took it off. I still have it and it will be included. The bike has some scratches, mostly on the side bags (see photos). However, all of the storage bags lock with the key. It also has a small scratch on the front fender that you really have to look closely to find (see photo). Overall, it is in good condition cosmetically for a nearly 30 year old bike. Now the good - bike has been well maintained. The oil has been changed every season. There is a new back tire this year and the front tire is good. New battery last year. The original owner's manual is included as well as the tool kit. The mileage may vary as I am using this to commute to work. The only reason I am selling is I have my eye on a larger one and the "boss" says this one has to go first. All lights, signals, horn and even the AM/FM cassette radio are working correctly. Clear title in hand. Bike is currently configured for one up riding. There is an included attachment for two-up riding (see photo) if you choose. This is re-listed as it did not meet the reserve. The reserve and starting prices have been lowered to sell. Yes, the bike has some cosmetic problems. However, I would NOT hesitate to ride it anywhere - The bike runs great and would be an excellent bike for someone learning how to ride, or just someone who wants something to get out around town. Again, I would not hesitate to take it anywhere, It has never let me down or left me stranded. With that said, it is nearly 30 years old and is sold AS IS.
