Then I got a girlfriend. Slowly working only about one weekend a month I got the motor in and it cranks just fine. There was definite lifter noise (to be expected after sitting for so long, and it's stock lifters/head), and I got white smoke. The compression is bad in the #2 cylinder. It sat for months after the head went on so I'm not sure if the bolts just need to be re-torqued or if the gasket is actually bad, either way I'm done with the project and just need my garage space back. The interior is in amazing condition, and the paint is beautiful. It was repainted just a few years back with original factory paint. As you can see it's got a handful of spare parts, such as the MAF which I'll throw in with the car. The motor is a beast, the previous owner had it built with a goal of 600 hp by lindsey (he ran out of time/money and was parting his race car project). It is an '86 shortblock that has been updated to use an autotensioner by Lindsey. Bottom end was broken in and has a bit over 3k miles on it (ODO Reads for old motor). It's got a 930 disc but stock PP so if you actually wanted to run that much power you'd have a bit of work to do, but the bottom end is more than capable. Turbo is in great condition with no play. When I got it there was a K&N cone filter on it I tracked down an original box and put it in. I installed the tial and the wideband/boost controller. Everything is very cleanly done. I spun the bearing in January of last year (09). I don't know the details on when the shortblock last ran, but according to the receipts Lindsey invoiced the motor in 5/31/2008. I did not rebuild the head, as I was just going to get it working again before I put more money into it. Yes I did use a new head gasket but I removed it and reinstalled it a few times, and also it sat for about 5 months (November -> March) before I even started trying to crank it. Then I found that the wiring on the flywheel sensors was frayed and took several more weeks to replace it. I really think that the gasket might not even be bad and the thing might just need to be retorqued, but I'm not promising anything. I slid off the road one time in the rain and a driver who saw it called the police, there was no damage and I was totally fine. Not even a scratch, no curb hopping, just slid into the grass. I drove it home and drove it for several months after that until I blew the original motor. That is why there is an accident listed. THIS CAR NEEDS WORK IT RUNS BUT BARELY IT IS NOT DRIVEABLE. READ DESCRIPTION TO UNDERSTAND IT'S CURRENT CONDITION. IT IS SOLD AS-IS WITH NO WARRANTY.
