This car has really been a lot of fun and we have driven it all over the Midwest. I don't see why you couldn't get in this car and take it anywhere in the US. Since I've purchased the car in 2004, I've replaced the transmission with a mild-street/strip C4 automatic transmission, with shift kit and higher stall speed convertor. To enjoy the new trans, a Hurst Quarter Stick shifter has been added a bit behind the stock shifter location. It's a lot easier to drive like this, in my opinion. If you're not very tall you may want to move it forward. Here's the history of the car: -Replaced the AOD with a C4 in 2008 (mileage less than 5,000) -Replaced the exhaust with BBK Shorty headers, Summit 2-1/2" H-Pipe and Flowmaster muffler with stainless steel tips in in 2008 -Replaced the brakes in 2006 -Replaced the struts/shocks in 2006 -Replaced the Radiator in 2006 -Pulled the engine in 2008 with the trans and put new gaskets, water pump, double roller timing change and HV oil pump in the engine -Installed the Ford Racing AC Delete -Replaced the tires in 2010 (less than 500 miles on the tires) Why is this car fun to drive? 1)It sounds awesome! I love firing it up and driving it. 2)The C4 is much more fun to drive than an AOD - an AOD in stock form shifts 1 - 3 - 4 ...yep, second is only for downshifting. The C4 is a lot sportier to drive! You'll love the ability to down shift with the shifter when you want. The mileage is only a bit lower with a C4 ~ 20-22 MPG.
