Up for bids is one of the rarest Convertibles ever produced. The American Motors Rebel SST Convertible. She has a 290 V8, PS, A/C, Automatic on the column. Black interior with front split back bench. You can drive this one Home! Where you going to find one? Right here on EBay today! This could be your chance to own an ultra rare convertible. #379 of 823, yes 823 ever built! 1 of about 75-100 left in the world the experts say. Documented and found at the links below. Read and discover how rare they are. NO RESERVE! http://www.hemmings.com/mus/stories/2009/06/01/hmn_feature13.html http://auto.howstuffworks.com/1968-1970-amc-rebel-sst-hardtop-and-convertible.htm http://www.oldcarsweekly.com/article/1968_AMC_Rebel_SST/ http://wizbangpop.com/2010/05/27/one-cool-1968-amc-rebel-convertible.php http://www.lakesideclassics.com/amc_68/amc_68.htm This car has been loved and always cared for from day one. Drives and handles like a dream and a real pleasure to drive. Fly in and drive it home. Hope it goes to a true AMC fan who will continue to care for it as all previous owner’s have. This car has the most detailed and documented history I have ever seen! Almost everything you can think of is in the 3-ring binder. (Watch YouTube links) once you get to video #1 look next to my user name "starcraftescort" for the tab that says "26 videos" click on that and it will show all clips across the top of your screen. To see videos click on this link first http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pLV1xaj0v4Q The information found in the 3-ring binder, is absolutely amazing and almost emotional as you read though the notes back and forth between the mechanic and owner. Every receipt, all warranty info, oil changes, all repairs, and just the plain history of the car itself. It’s obviously been well cared for and loved throughout the years. In one picture and in the book, the actual sticker, red with white fill in columns has been saved, all these years. This sticker was usually in the upper right hand corner on the outside of the windshield showing the cars info. Comes with a rust free ‘68 SST convertible parts car that was totaled out over 30 years ago. Leaving it rust free and awesome for parts. Also included are spare front fenders, front and rear bumpers, deck lid and hood. It’s a must that you watch the 14 videos I have uploaded to my YouTube account, in order to find out if this is the car for you. I know of no other way to better represent this car, than to shoot as many videos as possible. This will give as close of a feel as you can get for this car. If you live close enough and are able to come look at it in person before the auction ends, send me an email and we can set up a time. Be a true individual and have something that is truly unique and not seen around every street corner, like the common Fords, Mopars, and Chevy’s (Can you tell I’m an AMC lover?). No it’s not a Mopar. Mopar in my opinion duplicated this design in 1969 with their Roadrunner. AMC had this design in 1967 and 68. People always think it is a Mopar and wonder why AMC copied Mopar, and that’s when I usually try to educate them. If you have less than a 10 feedback score, do not even bother bidding, unless you email me first and we will discuss it. Thank you for viewing my car. Good luck bidding and send me any questions you may have. On Jul-22-10 at 05:25:42 PDT, seller added the following information: If you are seriously interested in this car you have to take a few minutes and watch the videos. Like I say in the videos, this car is not perfect, its a driver with about a twenty year old restoration. I show everything in the videos, all rust areas and bondo that is bubbling. If you dont watch the videos you are not getting the full description of the car. I dont know how to be any more clear. I have given full disclosure on this car in the videos and dont need any disapointments. If your unsure, then dont bid. If you do bid, understand that if you win, its yours. This car will continue to soar in value and whoever gets it will enjoy that escpecially if they restore the car with the parts included. With current classic car trends, in a couple of years this car if restored will be worth about 20K. And a few years after that who knows. You do the math and figure out if its worth it to you. Go ahead and look for another one for sale, you wont find one. They are just not out there. I will regret selling this car, I know I will. I dont need to sell it, I dont even want to sell it. Things in life change and I am parting with some of my most treasured STUFF. This car is at the top of my list for stuff I love. If for some reason I end up not selling the Rebel even though it appears it will sell this time oh well. Then I wasnt meant to part with it yet and it shall go back into storage this fall. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding if you decide to.
