Vehicle Detail
There was a rumor that there was an old 912 lying dormant under a two bedroom apartment building. It had supposedly been locked away for many moons. One of the best mechanics in our bunch, Dave the Wrench, had told me it was a deal. He told me an elderly gentleman was moving and could not bring it with him. My friend Jones was looking for this very car. I tried to turn him on to the deal. Unfortunately for him, he got locked in a battle with Dave the Wrench. I wanted the car bad enough to try my own luck but just as I closed in on the purchase Dave himself bought the car! No hard feelings though because after a short period Dave became disenchanted with the bright yellow Porsche. He had it towed over to our garage where we cleaned it up and presented it. What I have for you here is a gem. It’s a hard to find 912 that won’t cost a wheel barrel full of gold bullion. When Chatman and I went over this car we both expressed genuine disbelief at the time capsule like condition of this unique automobile. The car is unbelievably solid. It looked like it had been running recently even though the registration tags were 10 years old. The tires are fresh. The brakes look fresh. The front suspension looks good. The car rolls easily enough that I can push it by myself. The interior is wonderfully solid and the wood dash is a thing of beauty. Unfortunately somebody put a stereo in but other than that it’s a very original car. I have done my best to photo everything of interest and my partner color matched the passenger side fender which was previously red. The car itself was a turquoise green originally and now is a brighter of shade of sun shinny yellow. Definitely will get you noticed in its current form. There is a tad bit of rust in the lower left corner of the front trunk space, so please refer to the photos for reference. Dave the Wrench had put some juice to the engine with no result. We will update the ad after running thru some more of the functions of the car this week. The motor is intact but apparently has a bad bearing. Yes, the motor needs to be rebuilt. At least that is what the old guy who sold the car said. The motor is very clean and has some new components, so it is interesting that it’s not working because it sure looks good. The shifter goes thru the gears easily and the brakes stop the car well. It has 4 wheel disc brakes. Thank you for reading our ad. Please feel free to ask any questions or schedule an inspection. I have worldwide shipping connections and can get this beautiful classic delivered to your doorstep. Regards, Harris
