Vehicle Detail
I am selling this motorcycle for a very good friend of mine. You have probably already seen five of his bikes on eBay already. Two are already on the way to Australia. This bike is the last one to be listed on eBay. Here is his description of this classic motorcycle that is quickly becoming more difficult to come across these days. Here is a 1967 Triumph Bonneville. This is a numbers matching motorcycle. Both engine and frame are vin # DU51158. This motorcycle has not been restored however the paint job on the tank and fenders is new and we just put those parts on the bike two days ago. The engine and transmission ran fine at the time it was parked in the garage waiting to be restored two years ago. I just had way too many bikes to get to and because I can no longer ride I made the decision that they all had to go. The bike has NJB shocks. NJB is a company headed by Norman Blakemore who happened to be an engineer for the Girling company in England. The seat is a new seat made in England. The stanchions are new. The headlight is genuine LUCAS. New fuel lines. The tank badges are just about perfect. There is actually a Dunlop K70 rear tire that is MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN. I will make no guesses if this tire is original to the bike. The rear rim is a rechromed original MADE IN ENGLAND DUNLOP. The 'Bonneville' and the 'MINIMUM OIL LEVEL' decals will be applied prior to shipping the bike The front is an original DUNLOP as well but pretty much in the condition you would expect of a 43 year old motorcycle which pretty much describes the bike in general. This would be a beautiful bike to restore or to ride it as it is. Fuel has not touched the tank since it was painted and new fuel lines correctly installed with crimp ferrals. The throttle is an aftermarket unit. There is a picture that shows the parts that will accompany the bike: A new speedometer cable, new clutch cable, a new Made In England cloth bound wiring harness as well as an after market throttle. The picture may be a little dark to see but there is a chain guard too. If you have any questions please do not hessitate to ask. If I can answer them I will if not I will pass the questions by Bill and get back to you. Thanks!!! Winning bidder to make a $500 deposit by PayPal and the remainder within five days by way of personal check, Bank check or by wire transfer to my bank. Buyer to make and pay for the transportation of the motorcycle. I will take the bike to a Forward Air shipping terminal in Sacramento for no charge. All I ask is the you pay for the required four tie downs and two combination locks which will be no more than $25-30. Thanks you!!!!! On Jul-12-10 at 11:00:56 PDT, seller added the following information: I have been asked if the bike runs. It certainly should after the purchaser installs the new wiring harness, ignition switch, throttle cables a bit of gas and a few hearty kicks. On Jul-14-10 at 22:32:02 PDT, seller added the following information: Bill advised me that there is a broken fin on the cylinder just below the head on the left side. He had to tell me because I hadn't even noticed it and I don't think you would either. Thanks.
