Selling my 1973 MGB convertible with reluctance. Last year of the all chrome bumpers. 1800 cc. with 61,000 original miles. I am the third owner and have all receipts, and history of work done on car since 1976. Car has been stored indoors every winter since new. Originally purchased in Peoria,Il. by a doctor, who had it for 3 years, then sold to the man I purchased it from, who now is 96 years old. His reason for selling was his wife had a hip transplant and found it difficult to get in or out. Second owner had it for 32 years, and kept it maintained and properly serviced for that time. Receipts clearly show this. This vehicle is almost completely original. A real head turner. Younger folks are amazed when told the year of car. Car is 97% rust free, with only a few slight surface blemishes. Typical MGB rust- out spots are not prevelant. Floorboards, doglegs, trunk, etc are original steel, not weld ins. Wire wheels are in excellent condition. Spare is also wire. Previous owner had car repainted ( check photos) in a 1975 color instead of 1973. About 3 shades darker than 1973 color. Some of the new and updated components are, new and correct top, carpet and carpet insulation, seats, hood insulation, battery, rear bumper, window,hood,trunk weatherstripping, carb rebuilds, floor mats, trunk lock, plus things I'm sure I've forgotten. Engine bay is original and unviolated. Included with vehicle are original owners manual, service manual, original toolkit with jack ,wrench, hammer and bag, bootcover, headrests, and some misc. extra parts. Engine runs perfect, transmission shifts perfect, all gears. This model has no pollution devices. Oil pressure while at RPM is 60 lbs. and idles at 40 lbs. Burns no oil. Entire elecrical system works as it should. No problems at all. Tires are at about 60- 70 %. All in all, a VERY nice MGB that shows and drives well. If more pictures are required, I can accomodate.
