Vehicle Detail
You are looking at a 1968 Chevrolet Camaro SS.. This is a consignment listing for a family member so i will list as accurately as possible via information provided by owner. I would ask that bidders must contact me prior to bidding if you have less than 10 feedback. A $500.00 Non-Refundable Deposit is due within 24 hours of auction end. This is a nice car but just like any used vehicle, it will be sold as-is. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Anyone is more than welcome to come view the car before making a bid if desired. I can ship anywhere in the U.S. for additional and will do so if agreed upon before end of auction. I reserve the right to end auction at anytime due to sale locally. You may contact owner personally at (540)958-8492 in late afternoons or myself at (540)958-1359 at anytime. As you can see in the pictures the body pretty much speaks for itself. This car has a very clean 396 Big Block engine with Edelbrock Intake, Holley Carbuerator, Headers, Flomaster Dual Exhausts with 3" pipe. Engine is said to be producing around 400 horses. The Transmission shifts smooth and is a Muncie 4 Speed. Neither one of these are numbers matching components. It does have a 10 bolt rear, gears unknown. It is sitting on 15x8 Rally Wheels wrapped with like new BFGoodrich Radial Tires. It has the fully functional Cowl Induction hood, chrome bumpers that shine great, chrome trim(missing lower door trim and trim that connects side windows to 1/4 windows and one piece of wheel trim for the front.) It is a power steering, power disc brake car. Currently no power steering pump or bracket. It has multi-leaf springs in the rear with air shocks, pass side leaks down some as you can see in pictures. It has new paint all way around with the painted on stripe in the front, rally sport grill, spoilers on rear of car and under front bumper. The body has only ONE DING, which is on the hood about the size of a dime. No runs in the paint, no rust, no waves, NO bondo. Underside is very clean and already undercoated. VERY straight body. All the glass is in good shape, just a couple nicks here and ther in it, all windows roll down good. The interior is all brand new over 2k invested not counting labor. It is about 85% finished, just needs some components put back together, such as hooking up the gauges and lighting, dimmer switch and wiper motor. Dimmer switch is reason for carpet being up in driver's side picture. It does not have the factory radio. It does show 86k actual miles on the title but has a new gauge cluster reading all zeroes. This car starts right up and sounds great. Could very easily drive home if buyer wants to take time to get lights working properly or bring a trailer as well to tow it home. Owner does have some additional parts with it as well. Overall this car just needs a little more tlc to make a great show car. I would consider the car in a whole to be 85%- 90% complete for a cruise in show car, not an absolutely flawless MECUM show car but a very nice show car. These are a few numbers that i have gotten off the car. Cowl Tag reads ST 68-12437 NOR 12926 TR 712 RR and Vin# is 124378n413047 I have had several inquiries about what the car came with from factory. This IS a true SS car, NOT a clone and came with a 396 Engine and 4 Speed transmission, so the current drivetrain is relative to factory, just not "numbers matching". The body has NO rust, nor does underside, etc. It has an extremely straight body, no holes/rust in floorpans, trunk, rockers, etc. ONE ding on the hood is most likely it's only imperfection as far as paint/body wise. For another question, it IS an A/C car but doesn't have all components for it. Some of the pictures make it look like the paint is bubbled but that is just water drops from where it was sprayed off for pictures. I have had many questions about the body having ANY rust, and i would say that it is virtually NO rust, you MAY find a surface spot that a buffer would take off easily maybe on the rocker where water may have sit but besides that, NONE! This is a nice car in a hard to come by color combo with the painted on rally stripe. It looks tough, sounds tough and is ready for a new owner. I will try and attach a video clip from a cell phone to get an idea of how it sounds/runs. If it is not posted, i can send it to an email address along with additional pictures if needed.
