1960 Willys-Overland CJ-3B Original "Hurricane" F-Head 134ci - Life Long Arizona Jeep - Frame Up Full Restoration! Beautiful Poppy Red with Tan Interior! Believed to be 18,000 Original Miles on this Gorgeous CJ! Here is an absolutely drop dead gorgeous 1960 Willys Jeep CJ3B in fully restored condition inside and out. This is one of the neatest CJ's I have ever seen and no expense was spared to bring it to the gorgeous condition it is in today. The history on this Jeep is very interesting and really ads a neatness factor to this particular Jeep. It was bought new in 1960 by the State of Arizona for use by Salt River Project Water and Power district. This is known because the original windshield still retains the SRP decal in the lower corner! It was used very lightly to check dams and canals in the Phoenix water district. It was retired in the mid 70's with very low miles and sold to a retiring SRP employee for use on his ranch in Northern Arizona. It received very light use around his ranch for the next 30 years. When his estate was liquidated, it was acquired and stripped for a full restoration. The CJ3B is essentially the civilian version of the Willys-Overland MB military jeep that helped the allies win the war in 1945. Civilian production of the CJ3B began in July of 1953 and ran through 1968. Altogether 9,926 CJ3B's were built for 1960. The Body, Serial, and Frame numbers all match and this Jeep (S/N 61166) was a very early production being just the 162nd produced and was built in January of 1960 with production starting at S/N 61104. This Jeep has lived its whole life in Arizona and is believed to have only 18,000 original miles on the Jeep. A full frame up restoration was just completed with less than 200 miles on the build. Don't miss your chance to own a rare piece of American history...BID NOW! The following is a list of options as this Jeep is currently equipped: -Fully Rebuilt 134ci "Hurricane" F Head 4 Cyl Engine -3 Speed Manual Transmission -Spicer 18 High/Low 4wd Transfer Case -Rebuilt Axles with 5:38 Gears -Rebuilt Braking System with 11" CJ5 Brakes -Front Locking Hubs -All New 12V Electrical System -All New Painless Wiring Harness and Turn Signals -5 New Firestone Military Tires -Heavy Duty Front and Rear Bumpers -Fully Redone Original Seats The body on the Jeep is totally solid and rust free. I have inspected the body and can not find any obvious rust or repair patches whatsoever. The Jeep has lived its life in dry Arizona and has always been well cared for. The paint on the Jeep is Poppy Red, which is a bit more orange than President Red and looks simply awesome. The Jeep is straight as an arrow and the paint job is very nice. The Jeep has been completely inspected underneath from front to back and is solid as a rock as an western car should be. The rubber seals under the hood and windshield are new. Every nut, and bolt was removed before paint, cleaned painted correctly then re-installed. The meticulous level of the restoration is obvious when walking around this CJ. The interior was sprayed with Rhino Liner and looks great and is also very durable. The underside was also nicely redone and all suspension, axles, and floors were nicely sprayed with semi-gloss black. The exterior is dressed in all of the correct accessories such as the correct shovel, ax, a USMC jerry can for fuel or water, and the side mounted spare. It also has all of the bars needed for a soft top but does not include any canvas. The car is riding on original wheels with brand new 15" Firestone Military Tires which really give this little jeep an aggressive look, just like your Tonka toys when you were a kid! The interior is in great shape all around. The dash and door windshield are in very nice condition and the glass is chip free. The tan seats are all brand new and look very nice. All dials and controls function as they should and are illuminated at night. All of the latches and hardware were nicely painted bringing the attention to detail to the inside as well as out. Another neat thing is the original Motorola radio used by SRP which is still installed in the Jeep, but of course is just for display. Mechanically, this CJ runs GREAT! The Jeep starts right up and shifts quite easily. The Hurricane engine has been fully rebuilt and runs like a top. Nothing leaks at all and the engine runs great! Every mechanical system on this Jeep was gone through during the restoration including all new suspension, brakes, electrical and gearbox and axles. The Jeep was built with both reliability and fun in mind and definitely exceeds expectations! All in all, this is one of the cleanest and nicest Jeeps that I have had the privilege of being associated with. It has been professionally restored and truly loved by its previous owners. This CJ is a fantastic example and will be the envy of any true Jeep lover! Any further questions please call Jon at 480-703-2337. The car is located in Sunny Scottsdale, Arizona.
