Vehicle Detail
This is a 1991 GMC Suburban with 105,000 miles. The 350 ci motor runs good and strong with no ticks, leaks, smoking, or burning oil. The 700-r4 transmition was replaced with a new factory unit by the dealer at 57,000 miles. The lift is a 2" lift done properly with lifted springs (no blocks) and longer shocks. This has the dual front shock set-up. Four shocks are new with less than 10k miles on them while 2 of the front shocks are older Heckethornes but are good. The steering damper is also a Heckethorne. The tires are BF Goodrich with 75% or more tread remaining. All of the suspension is good and tight with nothing in need of immediate replacement. The brakes are going to need redone before too long. They are in good working order, just worn pads. One of the wear indicators has just started chirping. This has power windows, power door locks, and tilt steering. Please see the attached kbb appraisal. The reserve is set well below the low retail value. I am the third owner. The first owner was a real estate company that originally had the burly rack built on top. It has wooden plank floor and is very sturdily constructed from 1" square steel tubing. They had a ladder on the back and would take prospective clients out to lots and let them climb on top to get an idea of what their views would be. They sold it at relatively low mileage (about 20k) to the second owner who used this only to tow the boat to the lake with his family. He had the new transmission installed 3k miles before he sold it to me at 60k miles. I've had it for the last 40k and done regular oil changes etc. I've also had a local shop do my initial checkups and trans flush and inspection etc., though that was 35k miles or so ago. It has had no problems since. It on occasion gets a very small miss at idle that is most likely a crack in the HEI distributor cap that expands as things heat up. This has been present since I have owned this and has never caused any problems. This has served me as my second/recreation vehicle so it has never been a priority to fix since it affects nothing. The shift-on-the-fly 4wd and auto hubs work perfectly and have never once given me any problems. The trailer brake works well. The tape deck has stopped working though the radio works. There is dual front/rear air conditioning that should be functional but needs to be charged. When I originally purchased this the front air worked but the rear needed recharging. The previous owner told me that it only needed recharging. I live in a mild climate where ac isn't really needed (most houses don't even have a/c here) and it was my second vehicle so I didn't bother. Since then the front a/c has bled down also. They are both R-12, so a R-134a conversion and recharge should be all those need to be functional. All windows are power windows although all of the window regulators are tired and slow. One of the rear side door windows has a bit of a problem and will only roll down half-way. That regulator needs replaced. Also the window scraper rubbers are cracked as with any this age. The factory air cleaner has been replaced with a K & N lifetime filter, though it just has a paper element in it for the moment (I will clean and replace the correct element prior to pick-up.) The dent in the passenger side door was from me getting a little too close to a snow bank while pulling out of the driveway. There was actually an identical dent in the rear passenger door also, but on a recent trip to the desert the heat just popped it out on it's own. So I'd imagine the other will similarly pop out easily. The interior was not really cleaned for any of the pictures, just vacuumed out. So it should clean up much more with an actual cleaning. The dirty spot visible on the passenger seat should clean right up...I just haven't had the time. It's not a stain. There is also a little trick to unlocking the rear door. Not a big problem, just a little tricky. The mechanism has a problem but it can still easily be locked/unlocked opened etc. Also the hood latch needs adjustment and sticks. It just makes opening the hood tricky sometimes but it is just an adjustment. I just haven't had the time. There are also some cracks in the windshield but nothing affecting visibility. It started as one little crack and has just spread over time. I have tried my best to describe this as accurately as possible. Also the pictures should say a thousand words. This is not perfect, but it is a nice ambulance door suburban with lots of life left in it. You don't need to do anything to this to make it a good daily driver vehicle--just get in and drive. Though you will probably want to get a brake job in the near future as they are wearing thin. Also it looks black in the pictures. It is actually a very deep metallic midnight blue color. This also has the third-row removable bench seat. The middle seats fold down for a full-size 4' x 8' bed. Please ask any questions you may have before bidding. I am currently in the field travelling around the southwest US perfoming lightning research and it may take me a day or two to get back to you depending on when I can get a cell signal. You are welcome to call me at 970-769-0002 or email questions. Because I am in the field and will not be back in Durango until the 17th or 18th or so I have made the auction a longer duration. Should you choose to use buy-it-now please understand that it will not be available for pick-up until I'm back in town. Similarly I'd offer that anyone local may drive by and see it, but I would not be available to show it or to unlock it. I do have the clear title in hand ready to sign over to buyer. This is sold as-is where-is with no warranties expressed or implied. There is a $500 deposit due within 24 hours of auction close with the remainder to be paid at pick-up. I will accept a cashier check if you plan to pick up on a business day so that I may verify the check, or if you are picking up on a weekend I can accept cash only. Thanks for understanding. This is also for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early...though that's not likely as I am out of town. Bidders with zero feedback please contact me prior to bidding or I will reserve the right to cancel your bid. Bidders with negative feedback please do not bid or I will cancel. Otherwise enjoy the bidding and good luck! This is a great truck and you won't be disappointed.
