Vehicle Detail

This auction represents a rather unique opportunity to own the epitome of American luxury; it's a 1977 Lincoln Town Car Continental, Cartier Edition-with just over 28,000 ORIGINAL MILES. I originally purchased this bona-fide classic car thinking I would soon be acquiring a vintage Airstream camper; the deal on the camper fell through, and we're lacking suitable storage to house this behometh. That, along with the onset of considerable medical bills-is the ONLY reason this BEAUTIFUL DREAM CAR is being offered at this time. It's as close to 'the perfect car' as I've ever had the pleasure of owning. I've put about 5000 miles on this Lincoln since I've had it. Drove it from Nashville, Tennessee to Glenrose, Texas and back, through the mountains of North Carolina, and all over the Nashville area. Set the cruise control, and the powerful 460 engine glides it over mountains like it's going downhill. It doesn't use ANY oil whatsoever. The gas mileage is surprisingly good for a car that's nearly 20 foot long with such a monsterous engine. The engine and transmission are in superb condition. The air conditioner works great (I had Community Garage in Madison, TN replace the compressor, the evaporator, the expansion valve, and put a full R-12 charge in the system-which cools MUCH better than systems that have been converted to R-134). The interior is immaculate-the white leather seats are in incredible, original condition, and are supremely comfortable; feels like you're sitting in a top-shelf recliner. The headliner is perfect. The carpet looks like the carpet should look like in a nearly new car. Everything works on the car, including the power seats, the inside trunk release, and all the power windows. The only thing that is not original to the car is a stereo I added under the dash, which plays cds and has a jack for playing MP3's or an iPod, two great speakers that are mounted on the 'hump under the dash, and an aftermarket temperature gauge. The stereo, speakers and temperature gauge are mounted in such a way that they could be easily changed or removed. The vinyl top is like new. The suspension system is in top shape; this Town Car rides and drives like a dream, and handles mountainous curves better than most cars deal with the straightaways. The body is in excellent condition, showing few signs of being over 30 years old. The paint and chrome are in good condition; from ten foot out it looks awesome. A professional paint job and new pin-striping would put this Master of the Highways in absolute showroom condition. It's the center of attention wherever it is. If you have a craving for the ultimate in American motoring luxury, this is the perfect Lincoln for you. Here's a list of what's new with the car; New air conditioning system-including compressor, expansion valve, '0' rings', and a fresh charge. It will freeze you out! New alternator New battery New plugs New wires New Rotor button New distributor cap New starter New electronic ignition New coil New muffler & tailpipe Freshly undercoated New thermostat New radiator hoses New heater hoses New vacuum lines New heater valve Fresh oil change (fully synthetic oil) New filters throughout New 'Hankook' wide, white wall tires (by Michelin) Most of the original factory equipment was in fine working order-I put all the new components in it thinking it was going to be the keeper of a lifetime, and the perfect car to pull that old Airstream. All receipts and service records accompany the car. If you happen to be in the Nashville area, and are interested-you're most welcome to schedule an appointment for a personal inspection and take it for a drive. It's my daily driver for now, so the mileage will be somewhat different at auctions end than it is as of this listing.
