1989 BMW 325i Coupe - 1 Owner! 93k miles! wow! 1989 BMW 325i Coupe Vehicle Condition: Up for auction is one of the cleanest e30 BMW's I have ever seen. You always hear about the car owned by the "little old lady who only drove it to church, etc."... this is actually that car! The one and only owner was an older lady who drove the car since new, and only stopped driving it because she "felt unsafe" so she bought a Ford Explorer instead. This is a Nevada car with no rust anywhere on it, minimal sun exposure, etc. It really is a sight to see, everyone that has come into our warehouse has always stopped and looked at this car in awe... the color is a pretty rare color as far as e30's go, then once I show them the interior they are usually dumbfounded as to its originality. The car also came with a massive stack of receipts (which is included with the car) for service work and parts/labor etc dating back at least 10-15 years. Vehicle Exterior: The paint looks factory, but considering the car is 20+ years old there might have been some paintwork done at some point or another... but if there was it was a very good job, considering the "orange peel" matches from front to rear on both sides! The doors and trunk all shut with very minimal effort, sunroof opens and closes as it should, all lights work properly, and the wheels look very bright / shiny considering they have given 20+ years of service! The tires are newish and are probably about 1/2 way through their life give or take a bit, but still quiet and no dry rotting. All of the VIN tags match throughout the different panels on the car as you would expect. The glass is all original, with very very minimal pitting on the front windshield (it is the best looking e30 windshield I have seen). All rubber seals look very black and fresh so no extended overnight stays outside. Power antenna works as new. There were a few door dings along the drivers side and one or two on the passengers side I had removed. Vehicle Interior: The vehicle interior is in what I call "time warp" condition, as it looks like it came out of a time warp right back from 1989. The drivers seat, passengers seat, and back seat have no wear marks on them anywhere. The tan carpet looks to be in excellent condition for a 20+ year old car, and it was obviously owned by a non-smoker as the interior smells very nice! The dash is free of any cracking which is very common on all e30's. All of the switchgear work as you would expect, and everything is incredibly untouched. BMW factory radio is still cranking away the tunes as it did 20 years ago. Headliner is perfect, with no sagging, etc. Vehicle Mechanicals: We already said it above, and will say it again... this is the cleanest, and more importantly most original e30 I have seen. The car runs excellent and has been driven occasionally since I acquired it, and we have not had any problems. Performance is excellent; it’s comfortable, dependable, and safe. The transmission shifts with no problems or unusual noises. The vehicle accelerates smoothly and sounds great, also no unusual noises. The engine does not ping or knock. Acceleration is strong, braking is strong, it just runs great overall. No known problems here. the engine has its usual "bath" of cosmoline that was applied by the factory before it made the trip across the Atlantic Ocean. One could easily remove this, but I feel having everything the same color and thus "original" is better. The AC also works like a charm and blows cold as well. All of the vents works as does the blower motor without any fuss. The underneath is very clean, and dry. It is a 20+ year old vehicle and as such the engine "sweats" and will leave the occaisonal drop here and there, but no major leaks from any oil based systems on the vehicle. the muffler looks to have been replaced recently with an OEM type of muffler which even has the proper sideways exit pipes. It is likely not perfect. I can't guarantee that I described every physical and internal defect or flaw. The vehicle is sold as-is, where-is, with no warranty expressed or implied.
