Vehicle Detail
THIS IS NOT THE SAME BIKE THAT SOLD SUNDAY, JUNE 27TH. I RESTORED 2 OF THESE MAICOS SIMULTANEOUSLY. Yet another finely restored Maico by Blammogarage, com is up for auction. Get it before I take it to AMA Mid Ohio Vintage Motorcycle Days July 9th - 11th! Like all my other bikes (please take a look at the other two Maicos and two Husqvarnas in the pictures), this one turned out great and is in super nice condition mechanically, structurally and cosmetically. This bike was completely torn down to the last nut and bolt and rebuilt from the ground up. The frame (correct 490 frame - serial #3542835), swingarm, lower fork tubes, shock clevis, foot pegs, brake lever and rod were all sandblasted and powder coated the correct Cardinal Red RAL 3020 for these Maicos. The frame is in great shape with no signs of any cracks, structural damage or previous repair work. The motor was completely rebuilt by Letko in Kansas City, KS. I have all the paperwork from the extensive work done to the motor. All new piston assembly, rod assembly, cylinder resleave. All new seals, bearings and gaskets, including all crank bearings, shift shaft, clutch, etc, etc. All receipts avail. This bike runs incredibly well. A very, very strong runner. All new high quality platics from Rage Racing, custom reproduced decals by Speed & Sport and high quality tank and side panel decals by MXM in England. New UNI filter, new Dunlop tubes and 952 Motocross tires, new seat cover, new countershaft sprocket, new Regina gold chain. New fork seals and wipers, new stainless steel fasteners where needed, etc, etc. The rear Corte and Cosso shock works well on this bike. It's been rebuilt, filled with fresh fluid and recharged with nitrogen to 220 psi. A lot of time, love and money went into this restoration. The bike runs as good as it looks. My last three restorations sold to vintage motocrossers who race them at various AHRMA and AMA vintage motocross events across the country. The cool thing about this bike is that it sports drum brakes and is air-cooled which makes it eligible to race in the Post Vintage Ultima class with all the vintage Husqvarna, KTM, Penton, Ossa, Kawasaki KX, Honda CR, Yamaha YZ and Suzuki RM bikes. It will run circles around them. Maicos are to this day considered the Ferrari of motocross bikes. But you already knew that. Bid with confidence or Buy it Now. Either way, you will not be disappointed and you'll have a great bike to put on the line or in your living room. Please ask any questions you may have and check into shipping before you bid! I use Uship dot com for great shipping quotes. I have no problem to keep the bike for a week or two for your shipper to coordinate a pick up but I need paid within 72 hours in full. Overnight certified funds or cash in person. A deposit of $500 is due right away via Paypal or overnight certified funds. I will not crate this bike. This would be the one if you're looking for a very competitive bike to race on the ever popular vintage circuits. Here are the classes it's eligible for... 12.3 ULTIMA—CLASSES AND ELIGIBILITY The Ultima classes are for machines that bring us to the brink of the modern motocross motorcycle. The distinguishing formula for the Ultima classes are that these motorcycles must have been produced within the following formula: Ultima class motorcycles CAN have been produced with water cooling and have a linkage type rear suspension, but they CANNOT have been produced with disc brakes or any power-valve type mechanism built directly into the engine. 12.3.4 Ultima 500: For certain 325-580cc motorcycles produced within the guidelines of the Ultima Class specifications. Eligible machines include but are not limited to: 1982-83 Can-Am Sonic with Rotax four-stroke engine 1983-84 Husqvarna 510 four-strokes 1981-83 Honda CR450-480, 1981-82 XR500. 1983 XR500 is prohibited. 1980-81 Kawasaki KX420 1982-84 Maico and/or M-Star, air-cooled drum brake only. 1983-84 Yamaha TT600 (not XT600). Note: This is the only model allowed in the class that is over the displacement limit of 580cc. Typical overbore guidelines still apply to this model. Thanks and good luck bidding. Dont' hesitate to Buy it Now. It's a very, very nice bike. But PLEASE be ready to pay right away with overnight certified funds or cash at pick up. Regards, Mark
