Vehicle Detail

BMW R75/5 1973 TOASTER WITH CRAVEN PANNIERS AND CARRIER I'm selling my 1973 BMW. This R75/5 is a very original Long Wheel Base white toaster with stock high bars. It was sold new with saddle bags and rack (I have the original sales receipt). Everything is working on this motorcycle. The fuel tank is clean inside and its red coating is intact. It has been recently tuned with new points, condenser and plugs. The carburetors have been rebuilt with new needles, jets, diaphragms, O-rings and gaskets using authentic BMW parts (I have the receipts). It has new push rod seals. All of the fluids have been changed and the fork seals and drive shaft boot are new. It could use a fresh set of tires for serious riding. The spokes have some rust. It has original BMW stamped mufflers which are showing their age but look cool. It starts, idles and runs well. Shifts as it should and the brakes work fine. All of the wiring on this bike is in good original condition. It has the newer BMW gel-type battery. About the matching Craven bags with rack and original hardware:I don't currently have them mounted, but these actually came on this bike. They are in good condition for their age but do have nicks and scratches. The rack includes the original Craven mounting brackets for the /5 sub-frame. This is important because the support arms are differently offset due to the drive shaft. They have the quick-disconnecting levers. The hardware on the bags is in good shape too. The bags close tightly and the latches work fine. I have 3 bags. The third could be mounted as a top case or used as a spare (missing its lower bracket). In conclusion, this is a really nice R75/5 with matching numbers. The original feder weiss color, toaster tank, LWB and white Craven Golden Arrow panniers make it a rare package. The previous owner had it since 1974. It is quite original and not restored, but a ridable and presentable example of a fine motorcycle. I encourage you to come see it for yourself if possible. You can pick it up or arrange to have a motorcycle transporter (Federal Allied 800-747-4100) ship it for you. If you want to ride it, come on your BMW and we'll switch and go for a ride here in beautiful Pennsylvania. I have clear title in my name. If you want to see larger images, send your email address.
