Vehicle Detail
I have for sale a 1995 Mercedes Benz E-300 Diesel. This car gets 30 MPG ++. The car has low mileage for a Mercedes Diesel with only 111k. The car drives nice and looks good for a car of its age. Some brief history of this car: it was purchased new by my grandfather in 1994 from Bud Smail Mercedes of Greensburg. Window sticker on this car was $41,000 a big price tag in the 90’s. I do have a stack of service records. Half of them from Bud Smail and the other half from a local repair shop that my grandfather used. My Grandfather passed away in 2006 and this car was only driven about 2000 miles until my Grandmother gave me the car in 2008. At this point the car had around 99k miles on it. During the time I owned this car it has been almost trouble free. I had new brakes put on about 1000 miles ago, oil was changed about 2000 miles ago. Just had all the fuel injector bypass hoses replaced with the factory cloth hoses from Mercedes. The interior in the car is almost perfect with normal wear. All the factory Mercedes floor mats are in the car. All the power options are working as they should. The only issue that I have been having is with the tachometer. It does not always work on initial start up. It does start to work after a few miles. I’m assuming there is a sensor on the engine that needs replaced I just have not had time to look into it. Now for the bad part in July 2009 we had a bad rain storm and my wife and I drove through deep water on the highway and water came in around the doors and soaked the carpet. I called my insurance company and they chose to total the car. I bought the car back from the insurance company took out all the carpets and dried out the car. So that is how the car got a Reconstructed Flood Title. The second issue is the exterior paint. The car looks great but the paint is showing its age with the typical clear cracks of a German car. Also it has one small rust spot on the front fender by the front tire (see photo). The clear cracks you cannot see on the photos and does not take away from the look and beauty of this Mercedes. This car needs nothing and I would drive it anywhere. The only reason for selling is I lost my job and need to cut expenses. This car will save you money on fuel every time you drive it. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. Thanks for looking at my auction!!! Joe
