Vehicle Detail
1955 Ford Station Wagon Country Sedan As you can see in the pictures, this has been a complete restoration of what was already close to a rust free car. It has been repowered with a 1957 Ford 312 V8 Engine and transmission. It has a newly rebuilt four barrel carburetor with all new hoses. Brand new four core aluminum radiator and transmission lines. Engine has been detailed with chrome air cleaner, new valve cover decals, etc. Complete, brand new aluminized dual exhaust system. New 8 volt battery. It also has a 1957 Ford rear end installed. All the chrome has been polished or replaced. It has been newly repainted era-correct cream and yellow color. The front and rear seats, the rear fin chrome, and the interior trim/miscellaneous was all taken from a 2 door Ranch Wagon....which is the deluxe model. All new tinted glass installed (except the windshield). Front and rear bumpers/bumper guards have been newly rechromed. It has the deluxe headlight rims, fender skirts with stainless steel chrome shields. New Kelsey Hayes chrome wire wheels (cost=$1600) and a new set of Radial white wall tires. New drive shaft. Brakes have been rebuilt, including a new master cylinder. The interior is 100% brand new, including the headliner and carpeting. Logo'd Thunderbird floormats. Front and rear emblems, including hood ornament, are all new. All new threshold sill plates (front and rear). Later model Thunderbird steering wheel. New fuel pump, water pump, hoses, belts, spark plug wires, voltage regulator. It has taken 3 different station wagons including a Ranch Wagon to bring this car to its current condition. I've been putting it together for four years now. Gotten pretty attached to it and have considered keeping it around for summers and the Woodward Dream Cruise, but don't really have the room to store it inside anymore because of other projects I've taken on. It's too nice to put outside and I'd just as soon see someone else enjoy it for cruising around with their family or something. Put a surf board in the back, drive it to California, and pretend you're Dick Dale. Really unique car...you obviously won't see many like it, if any (I never have). The few times I've brought it out, it turns tons of heads and everyone wants to peek inside. It'll be sad to see it go. I have a set of the original era-correct wide white walled tires and wheels (with full hubcaps) and would be willing to put them on the car and lower the final bid price by $1000 if the winning bidder would prefer (I'd keep the current wire wheels and tires that are shown in the pictures).
