I am re-listing this car as the winning bidder backed out. Please bid only if you intend to buy. For those who will ask, the car sold for $1645 in the last auction and that met the reserve. This car has got to go!!! This is a great opportunity to buy a second car or first car for a high school student. The car does have a salvage title. It was hit in the right front and has had the right fender and bumper replaced, as well as the right headlight assembly. All parts but the fender were genuine VW parts. The car does need some work as shown in the pictures. The headliner is falling down, the right side door vinal is coming loose and there are some paint chips, dings, etc from daily driving. It currently is not drivable at highway speeds. There is a sensor in the transmission that is bad and it will not shift into overdrive. This limits the speed to about 35 mph. According to a local VW dealer, the transmission must be removed to repair the problem and that is just more money than we wish to put into the car at this time (was told it'd be around $1,000). A local AAMCO or private shop may be able to fix it for less. The car starts and runs great, blows cold air, etc. Just needs the transmission fixed and a few minor cosmetic repairs. Could easily be bought and repaired for less than most VW Beetles listed on eBay. Delivery is available for $1 per loaded mile. More pictures/details available upon request.
