1956 Chevy Big Back window stepside shortbox: Great push truck for Salt flats or shop truck for your business! Newer 350 engine, mild cam, aluminum intake, edelbrock carb, HEI ignition, ram horn exhaust manifolds into dual exhaust pipes, billet valve covers and aircleaner. New battery tray and hold down with brass fasteners. TH-350 automatic transmission, shifter on the floor. Truck is subframed with 73-87 chevy pickup frontend. Power steering, disc brakes, I just had the frontend shop go through the frontend replace ball joints and alignment. Truck drives beautifully rides and handles just like a 1987 chevy C10. Has tilt column, bench seat has wear on drivers side and needs to be recovered. I installed a Grant signature series wheel with billet hub. The body on this truck is extremely solid. The cab corners, rocker panels and so forth are solid. The paint is faded and patina. I did some body work to fix dents in both doors fenders front of hood had 3 small dents, and the top of the passenger rear fender had about 3 or 4 small dents. I expected to find rust when I sanded it down to metal in these areas and only had to hammer out the dents. I was amazed at the body on this truck. I aligned the doors and the body gaps from front fender to door to rear of cab on both sides is dead on. I sealed the areas I worked on and then went back over them with primer sealer and dusted it with flat black paint to match the paint to the rest of the patina and then had my lettering and pinstripe guy go over the whole truck. Whole truck ended up coming together nicely. I installed a brand new chrome grill, chrome headlight bezels, and new chrome bumper. Inside of bed - bedsides, tailgate and so forth are nearly perfectly straight just paint scratches. Once again the metal on this truck is in amazing conditon. The wood bed strips are weathered and go with look of the truck nicely which is why I did not replace. This truck has been extremely reliable, starts every time. engine is quiet, accelerates smoothly, and is a pleasure to drive.
