1985 Mercedes-Benz 300TD with California 170,000 original miles. I am the third owner and had it trucked to New York state in 2006, putting on 5,000 summer miles for a total of 175,000. Dealer serviced it's entire life, no smoking, child or pet wear. With the sunroof, leather seats, original equipment including Blaupunkt AM/FM/Cassette radio and power antenna, mercedes tire jack and complete first aid kit, owner's manual- this is close to showroom or collector level condition! It does have some faults: It has been inspected but is in need of a exhaust pipe, as original equipment has worn in some spots to seperate from the exhaust manifold bend and a coupler has been added for a seperation under the passenger compartment or midline. The muffler looks dented but performs. It will need tires by fall 2010, currently cooper white walls with 50 % tread. The oil gauge has been plugged at the sending unit due to a leak, a one inch oil stain in the driver's foot well is on the carpet from this leak. There are two small one inch chips on the windshield below the driver's field of vision from a transport company that delivered it. I have added a down draft or air dam under the engine compartment that came from another mercedes, and improves mileage and performance. the salvaged one has pebble dents on it, not done by me. There is one recorded accident of a front fender hit of a garbage can by the original owner in California. All operations function as intended Heat,A/C, power windows, door locks and a viper alarm system (currently unhooked) with remote. The power antenna is unhooked so it does not cycle up and down with each key switch (just plug it back in). this is an extemely comfortable car for the long drives (my usage) and has the swift reaction of turbo speed with the legendary sports car W124 body style for city/aggressive/racing driving if that's your thing. I loved this car but needed four wheel drive for New York state winters. I got 35 miles to the gallon or 425 on a tank without the reserve light coming on. I listed all the defects so you can make a solid understanding of the car you want, regular transportation or classic antique sports car.
