Vehicle Detail

1963 (1/2) FORD GALAXIE CONVERTIBLE Original Paint White with Red interior. This is an Heirloom vehicle and has been meticulously taken care of for its age. It has guaranteed original miles of just over 41K on it. Its equipped with a small block 289 and I have all the original parts from the intake to the carberator and valve cover gaskets. As you can see it had been dressed up a bit but the rest of the equipment is OEM. The transmission was rebuilt on it years ago and shifts effortlessly. I have all documentation for the vehicle including the original owners manual, sales receipt from the dealership back in 63 (1/2) and any and all parts replaced. It has new leaf springs and shocks and springs about 2 years ago and has hardly been driven since. Trust me this car is a collectors dream. As you know Galaxie convertibles are hard enough to find in natural condition. The vehicle was driven once a year for a couple months during the summer months then drained of fluids, tires off and doors propped for storing. The convertible top has been replaced, has no tears and all clasps work perfect. The rear window is not yellowed or discolored. I have a cover for the convertible top when down that snaps on effortlessly as well. I replaced the heater core and plugged the ends and rerouted the water hose directly into the thermostat. Living in florida its not needed for heating but can easily be reconnected with 5/8 hoses. The engine has all OEM parts that are being stored but are available on the sale. Painted with the original Ford red paint. I have currently installed on it a 650 cfm 4 Bbl edelbrock carb with intake but also can easily be replaced by the OEM equipment. Cars runs good but might need some additional tuning. I have the original coil as well but that has been replaced. All windows and mirrors are functional and roll up and adjust easy with no binding. This car is road ready. !! The body has very few blemishes as you can see in the photo. No dents or scratches however does have a 1/2"w x 4" l\Length rust hole behind the fender well on rear passenger side easily fixed. I have installed new hydraulic hoses for the hydraulic pump controlling the top which was leaking but the lifters on both sides are equitable and are not leaking only the hose was. Pump works fine as well. The only other problem tha car has is one of the scissor brackets on the convt top has broken and needs welded or replaced with after market piece. As you can see in the picture. The trunk has all the original equipment and no rust through floor boards or under the trunk carpet. ***The fuel line has been replaced and fuel pump and fuel tank as well due to resting in storage. (Another added bonus) The front drivers side seat has about 6 stitches coming free but is also easy enough to restictich. No tears and fading on front or back seats or assemblies.****The pictures dont do the interior justice as the show like the seats are a bit faded or dirty (They're not) The red is hard to see or comes out like that in pics. I can send better ones with HD camera if interested. I truly hate to give this car up for sale but I hardly ever use it and know someone would love to benefit from this or appreciate it more than I have when I had it trucked down from up North about 8 years ago upon my grandfathers death. Please take care of it as I know he would have. I have had the car estimated at about 20-21K and know its worth but I am asking well under that based on the few faults in condition it does have. I can say my reserve is many thousands under it. This car would be a family beach cruiser for the right family for the weekends or car shows. I have won a few trophies just displaying it as it is. If you are looking to get into a show car to occupy your times on the weekends with very little maintenance or restoration, this is the car for you. I can arrange for transport or provide additional pictures of certain areas as needed upon request. Serious inquiries only with minimum bid down of $500.00. Vehicle must be aranged for transfer within 14 days of purchase and if payment not received within 72 hours. Deposit of $500.00 will not be returned due to time and effort and not attempting to resell if buyer changes mind. good luck and happy bidding. !On Jun-08-10 at 13:38:32 PDT, seller added the following information: further info: The rust hole cannot be seen unless passenger tire is taken off and is looking at tire, around 1:00 oclock. in about 10 inches from outside well. Needs pinion seal at rear which Meineki quoted me $89.00 to replace. leaks a little oil when driving but does not affect driving ability. Car is a 1963 not 1964 sorry about the typo. On Jun-10-10 at 11:09:22 PDT, seller added the following information: in Addition: I have on order which is on back order 2-3 weeks as you see in the picture the black seat arm rest inserts are new and will be included in the purchase. The old ones have a few tears so want to make sure you get the new ones which I will install or send to you upon the sale. Already paid for. Only takes 10 minutes to put in which are above the arm rest wells above the rest ashtrays.
