Up for auction is a 1978 Mercedes 240D ,my father bought this car in 1993 and only drove it a few times up to 1997,and then had it in his heated garage. Iam am the 3rd owner my father and the original owner.Overall this car is in excellent condition it has a very low 15930 KM or 9558miles,the car comes with a documented history so you can see its always had very low miles/km. This car runs great and starts on the first crank,the motor is very sound and I understand you can get kits to run on all types of oil etc,everything on this car works as it should,as does the sunroof,as you can see in the pictures I took out all mats so you can see the floors they look like new with no rust,the back seat area looks new as does the spare tire well and trunk area,these areas are all original,pictures under the car show next to no rust nothing was hidden and the exhaust system was replaced and the shocks have a life time warrenty. My father did get a guy to repaint the car I think in 94 or 95 as the colour after a while gets dirt ground in,its not a bad paint job but in spots their is over spray,I had the car in my garage for 2 years drove it up and down the drive way and then put it away,needless to say having kids who care about their bikes and not the car the front right fender has some scratches,nothing major,their are a few spots of rust,under the hood,the sunroof flap,and rear inner quater only surface nothing deep,for a car 32 years old its in great shape,Iam not a mechanic so I can t answer any major things but will do my best,if your from the area drive it away,the winner must make all arangements for pick up and I will help of course. On Jun-07-10 at 09:14:44 PDT, seller added the following information: One thing that must be pointed out Canada was using the metric system in the early 1970s,the miliage that you see in the maintance booklet is in kilometers Not miles.This is very important !!alo the car was delivered to the owner in Jan 1979.On Jun-07-10 at 12:32:22 PDT, seller added the following information: the odometer shows 15930 which I will assume as 159 thousand 300km,or 95 thousand miles,which is still low for a diesel.
