Hello and welcome to the Auction! The item up for bids is a Beautiful 1960 Austin-Healey Frogeye (Bugeye) Sprite. This particular car was completely restored in a body-off restoration about 6 years ago and since then garage parked with very little use. We purchased the Frogeye to add to our British Collection but changing times force us part with our beloved car. It does have a few upgrades that make it stand apart from your typical Bugeye. This Healey comes with a more powerful 1275 c.c. engine upgrade for better performance. From the outside it is identical to the original engine, both being the Austin A-Series engines. It also has Front Disc-Brakes for much improved stopping power, along with a dual line master cylinder hydraulic system. A great brand new Quad-Exhaust by MONZA, to give that rich sports car sound! Brand new dual SU carburetters were purchased for the car, something no British Sports car should be without. We also fitted the electrical system with an Alternator and converted it to Negative ground. The Tachometer is now electronic for more accuracy, and is still working with the original gauge, only the inside mechanics were converted. The car runs and drives with ease, being so light it easily keeps up with modern traffic and is a blast to drive on winding country roads. The undercarriage was completely sorted with new bushings at the time of restoration. The vehicle is equipped with four nearly new Dayton chromed wire wheels and 4 new knock-offs. The body is in Great condition and free of rust. The paint was done on a rotisserie so the car is painted 360 degrees, even the under body is painted the same as the rest of the car. The paint was done is separate elements and then attached to the car (see photographs of the door hinges). The interiour and carpeting were done with new material and is in excellent condition. The Black vinyl seats with white piping compliment the car very well, this is a postcard perfect look for a Healey Sprite. The car comes with TWO tops, a convertible on fold away top on metal frame in like new condition and a full tonneau top with center zipper, so you can drive with it half open, That one is in good but used condition. Everything on the vehicle is in proper working order, all the electricals are operational. We recently installed all new hydraulics (Master cylinder seals, brake lines, brake cylinders) so you'll be sure to enjoy the car right away. Being that this is a 6 year old restoration there is of course the usual wear and tear, there are some road nicks and some light paint bubbles near the fender beading, and a couple ridges on the boot compartment, nothing major, just expected. There is also a small ding and scuffs on the right rear quarter panel and 3 scratches from rocks on the freeway on the top of the bonnet. All new chrome bumpers were fitted on the car, the grille is in good condition, just normal fading on the top bar. A lot of care and devotion was put in to this vehicle, and now it is time for you, the new owner to enjoy it. Everywhere we took the car we were ALWAYS complimented on it. The car starts all the time at the first pull of the starter switch. There are over a hundred photographs of this vehicle, so please take your time I promise they are worth it.
