The last of the great late 80's Japanese sports cars with ONLY 43k ORIGINAL MILES! Private seller . . .NO TAX ! Non-smoking, 4th adult owner. Always garage kept or covered. This beautiful Factory Fuji Blue Conquest is LOADED with aftermarket goodies. . .and I mean LOADED! Alot of people describe their older cars as "looks great for it's age'. Well, this Conquest looks AMAZING for ANY age. This car looks like new both inside and out. The pictures do not do it the justice it deserves. You will NOT be disappointed! SOME HISTORY If you are looking at this auction then you probobaly already know how rare and hard to find these cars are in ok condition . . .let alone in EXCELLENT condition like this one. This is my friend's car and he is a FANATIC about it. He owned one like it in high school and never fell out of love with it. He searched for OVER TEN years to find the one you see here. He does not want to sell but, due to family issues he has to let his dream car go, hopefully to someone who appreciates the rarity, heritage, and uniqueness of these amazing cars. This is the Chrysler Conquest TSi version of the car. The car was made by Mitsubishi and they offered the same car badged as the Starion TSi. The cars were IDENTICAL except for the different names. This is a 1989 which is the LAST of the rear wheel drive, front engined turbo charged cars to come out of the Mitsubishi stable. Everything else to date has been front wheel drive. And as true enthusiasts know, REAL sports cars are REAR WHEEL DRIVE! Both the Conquest and Starion were powered by a front engine, BIG 2.6 liter turbo charged and intercooled inline 4 Cylinder. The powerplant was mated to either a 5 speed manual or (even MORE rare to find like this one) a 4 Speed w/overdrive automatic. The cars were LOADED with options with lots of state-of-the-art (for the time) options like no other Japanese car company was offering in it's class. Automatic seatbelts, Steering wheel controls for the stereo, digital climate control, ABS, etc. EXTERIOR As stated above, my friend is the 4th owner of this car. Non-smoker, and VERY meticouless about taking car of his cars. Always garaged or covered. The Factory (and RARE) Fuji Blue paint is very glossy with NO fading, discoloration, body damage, or issues. You will see black, white, and maybe a few red Conquests/Starions but VERY SELDOM will you see the Fuji Blue. The body is BEAUTIFUL with NO issues whatsoever. Aside from a fews rock chips here and there from normal road debris, it is gorgeous. The Fuji Blue paint shines like new with NO fading, chipping, discoloration, or problems. The only paint repair was done back in 12/04/1993 when the previous owner had scuffed the front facia and bumper cover. Both are the ORIGINAL pieces and were repainted using factory color, tint, and clear coat and look PERFECT! All body panels line up just as they should and even the lower facia is INTACT! As you know, these cars are notorious for having broken lower facias. This one is PERFECT!. All window glass is intact and clear. All taillight, headlight, turn signals, and corner markers are in GREAT condition. All moulding, trim, etc. is also in excellent condition. NO sign of rust anywhere on this car. Like I said, it is in BEAUTIFUL shape. Pictures do not do this Conquest the justice it deserves . . .it looks AMAZING ! ! ! Overall I would rate the exterior a 9.5 out of 10.. INTERIOR The inside of this Conquest is BEAUTIFUL. Loaded with options - Aftermarket Black/Blue Racing buckets with both tilt and fore/aft movement, automatic shoulder belts, power windows, power door locks, power steering, power mirrors, pop-up headlights, Digital Climate Control, driving lights, factory alarm, Alpine CD player, Steering wheel Radio Controls (inoperable due to aftermarket CD player), Sport seats are firm with NO rips, tears, cracks, broken bolsters, or problems. The headliner and door panels are pristine. The Dash is also perfect. The carpet is also in EXCELLENT shape. The rear cargo area is intact and also in excellent shape including the factory plywood spare tire cover (rare), factory spare and jack. All buttons, switches, lights, controls, dials, knobs, handles, etc, are intact and in perfect working order. All print on the controls look new. The A/C control panel shows VERY slight signs of wear but, as you know, these units usually don't work and the print is worn off the buttons. Not so with this unit. It is fully functional and looks great. The A/C and heat work great and the fan blower blows strong. The A/C could use a charge though. It is not blowing as cold as it should. The audio system sounds great and the Alpine CD player works perfectly. The power antanne works as well but, every once and a while does not retract fully. A slight touch will help it down fully. NEVER smoked in. Overall I would rate the interior a 9.5 out of 10. ENGINE, TRANSMISSION, SUSPENSION, BRAKES, TIRES The drive train is a 2.6 Liter turbo charged and intercooled inline 4 cylinder. The car has ALOT of aftermarket goodies on it. The previous owner said that it had been dyno tested and made just over 300 HP. The car pulls STRONG through all gears and has ALOT of aftermarket parts including, intercooler hard pipe kit, aftermarket blow off valve, performance intake, downpipe, 3" custom exhaust, Fuel-Pro fuel pressure management system with bigger injectors, aftermarket high flow fuel pump, Laptop programmable fuel computer with real-time engine management, diagnostic, and adjustment capability. You can hook up your laptop or notebook to the car and with the provided software adjust EVERYTHING from fuel curves, ignition timing, etc. Aftermarket Boost gauge, fuel pressure, air/fuel meter, Greddy boost controller. Steel braided radiator hoses and lots of Earl's fittings throughout. The engine starts the first time, every time and settles into a smooth idle. No leaks, rattles, smoke, strange noises or issues of ANY kind. The power comes on VERY STRONG and pulls hard through the entire rev range. The car does have a vibration under hard launch that we have been told is either a torn rear diff mount or bad trans mount. We have also been told that due to the high torque output of the motor, the vibration may also be cured by a set of traction/ladder bars. The driveline and u-joints are in great shape. The transmission is a VERY RARE automatic 4 speed w/overdrive and has hi performance shift kit has been installed to handle the increased power and torque of the motor. It shifts smoothly with no leaks or problems. Just the vibration at take off. It smooths out after a few seconds and it does not occur in any other gear or while in motion. Only at a dead stop. The shocks are firm with NO excessive dive, squat, bounce, or rebound. NO strange creaks, rattles, or problems. The steering is responsive, just like it should be. The brakes are AMAZING ! Firm with great pedal feel. Equipped ABS (antilock brakes) this Conquest stops . . .RIGHT NOW ! No noises, vibrations, or pulling. Just smooth, confident, rip-your-sunglasses-off-your-face stops. The front rotors are cross-drilled and vented and the rears are the stock vented. Pad thickness is approx. 70% on all 4 corners. Wheels are custom staggered 17 x 8 front and 17 x 9 rear polished alloys. New tires up front and approx 50% tread in the rear.
