Here's the deal: The car was bought needing an engine, we had a wrecked 91 318is parts car with a GOOD running 137k mile engine, we DROVE the wrecked parts car into the shop- checked it out, let it come up to temp- everything worked fine so, we removed the engine and installed it into this car. This was a 3 hour job at our shop-we do these engine swaps every week. Now the car only starts for 2 secs and shuts off. We checked some stuff, swapped some stuff (DME, air flow meter, etc...) and then we ran out of time... (we wanted to have it painted and take it to the Carlisle Import show last week). At this point, we just don't have the time to mess with it. AND- YES, we checked all the obvious stuff; the car has 150lbs compression in all 4 cyl, 65 lbs of fuel pressure. The car does the same thing no matter we do. I'm over it and we just don't have the time for it. Clean PA title in hand. BRING A TRAILER or TOW DOLLY - Car will NOT drive home. PLEASE- don't call me with low ball offers, as we PART-OUT BMW's (we have 50+ parts cars in stock) and this car is worth more dead than alive...(M42 engine, trans, 4.10 LSD, seats, dash, bumpers, valance, etc...) I just think the car could be a very nice car if you had time to fix it. Engine/Transmission: 4cyl.- M42 engine "RAN" STRONG when removed. NO smoke, NO noises, NO issues. I give you MY WORD -the engine is good. Body/Exterior: The body is not bad, it does have 2 rust spots; pass side rear quarter panel lip and left front fender at the bottom- there is a spare fender in trunk that came with the car but, its not perfect, (I guess the guy was going to cut the bottom off to fix the orig. fender?). The paint is "checked" all over (tiny little cracks in the paint). and it really needs an all over paint job. I'm sure there is more that we are missing so PLEASE, ask questions and come see it in person!!! Interior: The Sport interior is in GREAT shape. The front seats are nice, the rear seats are nice but, have a little fading, car has a PERFECT DASH. ..AGAIN, come see it in person. Overall: The car has a lot of potential, car is complete and we just don't have the time to mess with it...Our loss is your gain...
