2001 BMW F-Series

Up for auction is my first BMW motorcycle. It is a 2001 F650 GS. The mileage is 22,398. I am the 3rd owner of this bike, and have owned it since early 2005. It has always been garage kept while in my possession. The F650GS is a dual sport bike that can be ridden on or off road. It has a single-cylinder, water-cooled, 4-valve, DOHC, 4-stroke engine with 652cc of displacement. It is a 5-speed, and produces 50 bhp. The bike also has ABS brakes with a switch to turn off the ABS (off-road riding). It is a great motorcycle for a beginner or advanced rider. Very fun riding on back country roads. Has a center stand as well as a side stand. The center stand makes for easy servicing (lubing chain, oil change). The gas tank holds 4.5 gallons, and I get 60 miles to the gallon. That's 180 miles before the gas light comes on. Fueling is on the side instead of the top. This motorcycle also has heated grips. The grips have 2 settings, and really make cold weather riding more fun. I added driving lights, with a switch on the instrument cluster. They had a bright silver paint that is starting to chip off. I have tried to show this in the pictures. They could easily be repainted. Also included is a locking BMW top case. This is great for running errands, and will hold a full face helmet. It is easily taken on and off. I also added a different wind screen that deflects air off the rider better than the original. The tires, chain, and sprockets were replaced about 2000 miles ago. There are scratches that I have tried to show in the pictures. It is not a new bike, but still looks pretty good. It starts right up, and is fun to ride. I have the original owners manual, as well as a repair manual on CD. The winner will need to pick up the bike. I will need a $500 deposit through PayPal, with the balance due in cash or bank check.
