Vehicle Detail

This is a very solid 1953 Buick Super Riviera 2 Door Hardtop with its original Buick Dynaflow automatic transmission and Buick 322 V8 engine. Original dash and gauges with original seat cloth. This was an Arizona car many years ago that came into PA back around 1969 (so I was told by previous owner), I believe it to be true due to the solidity of the sheet metal and its condition. I have been the owner for 3 years now. I have had to move it outside within the last several months due to lack of storage space and am selling due to this and some other personal medical reasons. I had bought this car to make into a period-correct early 1950s custom. Now it sits waiting for its new life. This Buick has been completely rewired, has new (bought two years ago but with less than 50 miles on the tires) Coker radial whitewall tires, new starter solenoid, new sway bar bushings and hardware, new 2" lower custom made springs all the way around (these are new, custom made to lower the car 2" from its stock height, and NOT cut down springs!!), floors sealed with sealer, trunk sealed, and other parts bought for it bu not installed which include but are not limited to, new portholes, NOS windshield washer unit/cannister, good core clock, original 1953 shop manual, etc. I do have "some" of its trim such as the spears on either side of the car. The grill is missing as a custom grill was going to be built for this car. Runs and drives, needs new brake drums and solenoids, was taken off the road two years ago and driven occasionally. Cosmetically needs a few shallow dents taken out by the driver side portholes, new rubber for seals, paint job and interior. The sheetmetal is VERY solid! The streaks seen are due to rain and light rust that has accumulated within the last several months, NO ROT! Driver side floor pan was replaced by previous owner as Buicks of this year were known to rust and rot out on the driver's side floor due to a bad design where the water would come in through the pedal area of the toe board,... this was extremely common no matter where the car was from. A great car that just needs a little bit of elbow grease to get into tip top condition! When she was on the road this actually had to be the absolute best riding car I've ever been in,... even compared to a modern car. It just floated down the road and shifted flawlessly! I'm taking a loss even at the buy it now price of $3K, but I just have no more room and personal medical reasons prevail over worthwhile projects. My loss will certainly be another's gain. Car is sold as a project and there is no warranty of any kind. Sold on an "As-Is" basis, no refunds, etc. For sale locally, as I reserve the right to end the auction if it sells locally. We reserve the right to sell the car before the auctions end if the reserve has not been met. Winning high bidder agrees to PayPal a $500 deposit no later then 48 hours after the auctions end. Balance is due within 1 week of auction's end. Thanks for looking. For more information please contact me with any and all questions. More photos and info upon request. THIS IS AVAILABLE FOR PICKUP OR SHIPPING FROM QUAKERTOWN, PA. BUYER IS FULLY RESPONSIBLE FOR PICKUP, LOADING OR SHIPPING. PICKUP PREFERRED! On May-25-10 at 16:08:14 PDT, seller added the following information: Also, it will need a new interior as the seats are in good condition but much of the rest was torn out when I got it. My plans were to redo it anyway so I took out what was left. On May-27-10 at 11:18:06 PDT, seller added the following information: *Also note that this was supposed to be nosed and decked, and as can be seen in the photos, the hood was started and "teo" of the driver's side portholes were filled in with sheet metal. These are all easily removed, but even though they are pictured, I wanted to make sure it was known** Again, thank you for your interest.
