Vehicle Detail

This is a 1968 Camaro. The man I bought it from in Ohio listed it as an SS/RS. I don’t know if it truly is though. The SS/RS comes stock with a 350, has a deluxe interior, and has 4 piston caliper front wheel disc brakes. This car came stock with the original 350 engine, has 4 piston caliper front wheel disc brakes, and as far as the interior ???. Meaning - I don’t know what was considered deluxe. I had the original engine pulled out and replaced with a brand new Crate ZZ4 350 engine from Pace Performance (Original engine was shot – New engine has only 2000 miles on it). Engine Specs: GMPP ZZ4 350CID Crate Engine has an aluminum head small block that makes 355 horsepower, a street roller camshaft, 4-bolt main block, 1053 forged steel crankshaft, high silicon pistons and strong PM connecting rods. The ZZ4 is used in a series of small blocks that power thousands of street rods, hot street cars, circle track racers and drag racers. Engine produces over 400 Ft-Lbs of torque. The aluminum angle plug cylinder heads have screw in rocker studs, 1.94" intake and 1.50" exhaust valves and 58cc combustion chambers that yield a crisp and responsive 10 to 1 compression ratio. Also included are lightweight valve spring retainers that weigh half as Crate’s previous design. The valve seats are radiused and include valve stem seals to help keep the oil where it belongs. To compliment the cylinder head design, Crate incorporated a steel roller tappet camshaft with .474" intake and .510" exhaust valve lift. The combination makes 355 horsepower at 5250 rpm. Also included with the ZZ4 is an HEI distributor with an ignition timing advance curve developed for performance, a dual plane aluminum intake manifold that accepts your spread bore or square bore carburetor, an 8" high-rpm harmonic balancer, 12.75" automatic trans flex plate and a cast iron water pump. Performance Upgrades: Dynomax High Flow Headers, LT4 Hot Cam (Hydraulic Roller) Kit, Barry Grant Speed Demon 750 Mechanical Carburetor, Flowmaster Stage 2 Exhaust System (headers back), MSD 6AL Multiple Spark Discharge Ignition Box, MSD Blaster 2 Coil, MSD High Performance Cap/Rotor, High Performance Spark Plugs/Wires, K&N Air Filter, Heavy Duty Clutch, and Heavy Duty Cooling Fan. Much of this car has been restored. There are too many new parts to list. Some of these parts include: New .389 rear end (Pontiac rear axle), brand new Good Year tires, new manual steering unit, new radiator, new fan shroud, new brakes (4 piston caliper/front wheel disc), new hoses, new headliner, and new driver/passenger seat covers. The performances upgrades listed above are also all new parts. Nothing on this car that I have replaced has been used/purchased from a private owner or off of another car. All parts have come from: Pace Performance, The Paddock, or other Licensed Camaro Parts Companies. Also, the glass on this car throughout is in great shape. There are no chips or cracks anywhere on the windows, front/rear dash, and mirrors. What this car needs to make it complete: Paint, some minor electrical, and reconnecting the heater blower motor for interior ventilation. This was disconnected before by the previous owner for restoration purposes. The hidden headlight motor mechanism also needs to be finished off (headlight covers must be manually opened). Front dash has cracks in the vinyl (on top). All of the lights work on the vehicle - headlights (brights as well), turn signals, brake lights, reverse lights, dome light, etc… Note when I say paint - I mean this is a 10 foot car. Meaning - 10 feet away - WOW! Up close spider cracks all over (3 pics included to show flaws). The body is tight. No dings and if there is bondo it is very little (2 inch area – below drivers door is all that I have found). I went around the car with a magnet before I bought it. Lots of metal - not wavy gravy. I wanted this to be a turn key car and that’s exactly what it is. It’s very reliable. NEVER has it acted up on me. And I mean NEVER. It’s fast but not too fast. Meaning at 60 you’re kickin’ about 3200 RPMs. It starts, runs, and stops like it’s supposed to and it looks and sounds awesome! Any questions or to set up a time to see the car (if local) please email me. Serious inquiries only please. Thank you!
