Here is a beautifully restored 1961 Rag Top Beetle for sale. This car looks like it did 49 years ago when it rolled off the show room floor. This car has never been in an accident and has zero rust. Mechanically, the car has been converted to 12 volts the right way... a 12 volt flywheel, new Bosch 12 volt starter, generator, 2 speed wiper motor and Sapphire I radio. This Ragtop Beetle has an updated drivetrain. It comes with a rebuilt 1967 transmission with the higher gear ratio's. It is mated with a fresh 1600 dual port motor. No more high RPMing at 60 miles an hour. You can drive this car on the freeway. It has a new steering box installed. It has a completely new brake system (master cylinder, all wheel cylinders, brake drums, flex hoses and semi-metallic brake shoes...the works). The beetle rides on 4 new shocks as well as 4 new radial tires. THIS CAR DRIVES BETTER THAN IT DID 49 YEARS AGO... Cosmetically, not much needs to be said...the car is painted factory Gulf Blue with a Gulf Blue rag top. New German Running Boards and fender beading. All new rubber seals throughout the car. The interior has been restored back to factory specs as well.....newly upholstered seats done in dove grey with off white piping. Matching door panels. A new headliner was installed as well as charcoal grey carpeting. This car needs nothing but a new owner that wants to enjoy the pleasures of owning a vintage VW.... best regards, Mike
