Vehicle Detail

For sale is a 1964 Porsche 356SC coupe. I have owned the car for over 24 years. It has been in Texas and Florida for over 30 years so there is virtually no rust. The longitudinals, jacking posts, floor, battery box, etc are all solid. I don't want to say no rust as there is surely some somewhere. The engine was rebuilt approximately 15,000 miles ago. I have only put on 12,000 miles in the time I have owned it. The transmission shifts perfectly. The interior is mostly original with new oatmeal square weave carpet and new headliner. The paint is very shiney and has not been in the rain for 20 years. The body gaps are excellent. There are some small scratches and very small chips on the body. There is one 3" scratch on the right front upper fender and a crack in the paint on the hood. I was going to have the hood repainted but I didn't want to risk a mismatch of the paint as the crack doesn't show much. The bottoms of the doors have been redone. I replaced the clutch about 3,000 miles ago. The carbs need a tuneup as the cars stumbles off the line and then smooths out about 1500 rpms and pulls strongly without a miss. This is a very well sorted out car that is a joy to drive. I have owned about 13 356's over the years including a Carrera Speedster and this is a good driver. This is not a 98 point car but is very presentable. We have a 356 club locally with over 40 cars and my car shows very well. Most of the rubber has been replaced but the rear quarter window rubber needs replacing. There is some light pitting on the chrome wheels and the drivers window frame. I have complete records but I can't find them. It includes the original bill of sale to an Air Force Lieutenant when he picked it up in Europe. Included is a tool kit and manual. I don't want to sound too negative but I don't want to misrepresent the car as it is a very nice car. The color is Irish Green which is the original color code. According to the charts I have seen the engine case is period correct for a '64 SC but I don't have a Cardex or COA to confirm matching numbers. I require $2000.00 via paypal within 24hrs and the balance via certified funds within 7 days. I will help with shipping but it must be arranged by the buyer. I will only sell in the USA. If you are not in the USA do not bid. The car is sold as-is.
