Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a 1979 Pontiac Firebird PROJECT car. This a RUST FREE, Nevada car that is a GREAT project for the GM enthusiast. The car has the original V8, 301 with a TH350 trans. I will cover the motor a little later on. The car came with factory A/C, all of which is still on the car, but the system is not charged. The car has Power Steering, and Power Disc brakes too. The body of the car is in great shape, and the sheet metal is all original! You can stick a magnet to the body everywhere. The car has never been in a accident either. Overall the car would be a great build, and as you can see the car was registered and being driven on a daily basis until last month. The car drove straight down the road, and had a front end alignment 4 months ago. ENGINE/ TRANSMISSION: The engine is the original 301, which was gut-less! But, it's the correct motor for the car. The car ran great until a month ago when the car lost all oil pressure. I have no idea why, as the motor only had about 7000 miles on the rebuilt engine. The car will still turn over, and will run, but she's not getting any oil! Since the car quit running a few parts have been taken off the car. The radiator which was a new 4 row was given away, along with the alternator, and the belts. I have the carb at this time, which was also rebuilt, it may go with the car if a buddy doesn't need it. Minus those few items under the hood is complete. The car has a new exhaust system with a catalytic converter. The transmission shifted fine but, needs to be re-sealed up, as she leaks out tranny fluid. I have no idea when the tranny was last rebuilt. It worked fine though when the car was running. INTERIOR/ EXTERIOR: The interior is in ok shape overall with some good and some bad. The seats are in ok condition with the custom covers. The fronts have some wear but no rips or tears. The rear seats look very good. The headliner is very good. The dash is cracked, the drivers seat frame is broken, the console is gone, carpet is decent overall. The gauges all work, including the oil/water lights! The gas gauges works but your out of gas at 1/4! I don't know if the blower motor works for the heater? Both door panels are gone, I think the sail panels are gone also. There is no glove box insert, and the latch doesn't work. The glass is all in good shape, and the windows roll up and down. I think the drivers regulator works but, the little end for the handle may be getting rounded. I'm sure there are trim pieces that are missing inside also. The front seats have " Angel 51" on them... it's stitched in there and it can be removed pretty easily! The exterior is very straight, with just a few dents here and there. The body lines are pretty good, and I didn't see any signs of rust anywhere on the car! The car has never been wrecked either, as everything is very straight under the car! The rims are Centerline rims, with used tires that are in worn out shape. All the panels on the car are original sheet metal! The drivers door hinge is JUNK, so when you open the door it sags, and it needs a new one. The passenger side is good though. INFO: The car is a very, very nice PROJECT type car. The car is NOT perfect, but it’s 31 years old also. Please know this before bidding. I take pride in delivering this car as it was advertised. I tried to cover the car the best I could so, if you have any questions please email me, and I will answer them ASAP. There's no warranty on the car, and it's sold "AS IS". The car may be inspected anytime BEFORE the auction closes! I may end the auction at anytime. The wining bidder is responsible for all shipping arrangements. There is a $500 non refundable deposit due within 24 hours of the auctions end. The remaining balance is due within 5 days of the auction closing. YOU CAN PAY THE ENTIRE BALANCE THROUGH PAYPAL ALSO, or send a Cashiers Check or Money Order for the remaining balance. The car must be picked up within 2 weeks of the auction closing. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Thank You and good Luck!!
