Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a body-off restored 1948 Studebaker Champion convertible that is 100% complete with a power top and overdrive. The period correct restoration was preformed about 10 years ago by a 30 year member of the Studebaker Club and driven sparingly since. This car looks, runs, and drives great. The body on this car is dead straight with no waves, dents, or door dings. There is NO RUST in the floors, trunk, frame, rockers, fenders, or quarter panels. There is a minor bit of rust at the ends of the transmission cross member but very minor. Looking on the inside of the fenders and quarter panels I see no indication that there was any big dents that caused body filler to be used. The body was taken off the frame and with the exception of some spider webs the under carriage is straight and clean. The paint is in excellent condition with a nice dark bronze metallic finish and no chips, nicks, or scratches. The chrome is all good with a very nice finish. The interior was also completely re-upholstered with period correct materials. The door panels, seats, and kick panels are all in excellent condition. The carpet is in overall very good condition showing minor wear on the drivers side floor. The dash and gauges are pretty much unrestored original and in overall good condition. The fuel, amp, oil pressure, temperature gauges all work as do all the lights, wipers, power top, interior light, and even the original radio! The door and back seat windows roll up and down perfectly. The clock is the only item not currently working. The canvas top is in overall good condition but does have a couple of spots showing minor wear. The trunk is very nice with the original spare and jack in place. All the door and trunk locks work as well. Mechanically the car needs nothing, it runs and drives great on either city streets or the freeway. Under the hood its complete and original. The original flat head 6 cylinder engine was rebuilt as was the 3-speed transmission w/overdrive and suspension. Even if it sits for a couple of weeks it starts right up every time. This is a very rare, unique and fun car and will give the winning bidder years of fun while maintaining its value. To do the restoration alone on this car would be at least twice as much as we're asking for it. If your looking for an affordable classic car where all the works has been done then you should take a good look at this car. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me via e-mail or at (714) 535-8555 before bidding. The winning bidder is required to make a $500.00 deposit via PayPal within 48 hours from the end of auction with the balance due via wire transfer within 5 days from the end of auction unless other arrangements are made beforehand in writing. This car is advertised locally and we reserve the right to end the auction early in the event it sells. We would be happy to assist in transporting or shipping the car anyplace in the world. Vehicles sold for use and/or registration in California will have all applicable taxes and fees due in addition to the winning bid. Thanks and good luck!
