Buick : Skylark 1972 BUICK SKYLARK CUSTOM CONVERTIBLE. 2 DR 82K AUTOMATIC WITH NO RESERVE.Here is the rare and fun to drive 1972 Buick Skylark Custom (a fancy name for a convertible). 2 door, full power, numbers matching, classic. In red with a white and black interior. This is not a restored vehicle this is a 1972 Buick Skylark Custom in near excellent condition with only 82,499 original miles. This car is essentially "Cadillac meets GTO". Car has had 6 owners including current owner. This car came fully loaded: Power Roof. Power Steering. Power Brakes. Power Windows. Power Door Locks. A real head turner. This is essentially the last of the good stuff.HISTORYOnly 3,608 Buick Skylark Customs were made in 1972. This one belonged to friend who passed away and the car has been sitting in the garage ever since. It has been sitting for three years undisturbed under cover in its own private garage. And it is his familys' wish that it go to someone who can appreciate it and hopefully get as much joy out of it as he did. This car has been pampered and sheltered all of its life. It was turned on recently to be photographed. It could use a new battery. Current battery was placed in the car brand new in 2007 but it has not been used since then and there is no way to gauge its reliability. Most recent work done in 2007 Plugs, wires, tune up. Brake Job. Flushed and replaced brake fluid and lines. Wheel Alignment. BODY CONDITIONThis car is near original condition. It is pretty much flawless with exception of 3 dings worst one pictured above the others you have to look for. Because of the high reflectivie nature of the paint it is hard to photograph and so reflections captured by the lens distort the body's perfect lines. It actually has to be seen to be appreciated. The car has been repainted. There is overspray over trunk lock and stickers have been painted over. There are some specks of rust on the bumpers. There is rust forming on the inner door jam of driver side door (pictured above). There is some rust inside underneath the grill which would naturally be exposed to water under normal use. Overall it is very solid and very straight. ENGINE TRANSMISSION ELECTRICALAll vital components are in full working order and should provide very reliable service. Power window buttons on driver door are loose. This is why the rear quarter window is stuck. Contacts need to be cleaned and the switch assembly tightened. So it is a contact issue and not a mechanical problem. I drove it to a local shop to photograph the underside. It is strong, has real power, and handles really well. Suspension is tight and ride is smooth. Dual exhaust has a deep throaty rumble. It is a real blast from the past. Its not perfect but can be with a little TLC. Battery is an interstate and cranked it right up. I stand corrected--battery should not be an issue.NO ACCIDENTSThe body on this car is straight it has never been crashed or in an accident. The chassis is straight . ALL SERVICE UP TO DATERuns very well but it has been sitting in storage for 3 years. Obvious Flaws Rear Passenger window stuck in lowered position. Has 3 dings. Some rust specks on bumpers. Some rust forming in driver door jam nothing major. Engine and trunk compartments and whole car could use a detailing. Door panels show sign of age. Glove box has been modified to accomodate cd player . Stuck Rear Passenger Window FULL SIZE SPAREThere is a full size spare in the trunk along with oem jack. SOLD AS ISThe car is sold as is. It is in good running condition and it will be reliable for many miles to come. But none the less it is sold as is. No warranty is expressed or implied.
