2001 Ford F-550 Crew Cab Dually XL Work Service Utility Body 4x4 MONSTER TRUCK! 1-Owner Commercial Fleet Lease Company Truck, Huge Utility Box, Runs Great, Clean History, Air Compressor, Auto Crane, Hard to Find 4x4, Rare Find! year 2001 drive train 4x4 make Ford ext color White model F-550 int color Grey sub model Custom Superduty Utility Service Truck vin 1FDAW57S91EC16873 engine 6.4 Liter Triton V10 mileage 184083 transmission Automatic OD stock # AC10296 about This is a 1-owner commercial fleet lease truck we purchased direct from the fleet company. It's a monster, full 550 chassis, long wheel base crew 4x4 dually. It has a very high dollar utility box, 3200lb crane with outrigger, air compressor (all PTO driven), heavy tow package, and on and on. The truck runs and drives very well for having some mileage, tires are good, transmission has been rebuilt at one point, really a solid truck. These trucks are terribly expensive new and this one still has a long haul yet to go. This is a lot of truck for the money and a great buy. exterior This is a good solid truck in presentable condition. It's not new or beautiful, but it looks fairly straight overall and has no significant damage. It'll be just fine for most work applications. The wheels look fine and tires all have good deep tread. The front bumper is new. The windshield is good, no cracks or chips. The box doors all open and close fine, and the cab is pretty straight. It has scratches, nicks, dings and marks as anything will have. There is a bit of rust on the door jamb seams inside, but nothing bad and the undercarriage isn't scaly or significantly rusted. The truck has spent its' life in Nebraksa and they don't salt the roads like you see in the great lakes area or back east. (We don't salt the roads in Colorado.) The photos document everything well, have a look. interior The interior is in good shape all things considered. It has some staining on the upholstery, and a tear in the right rear bench, though drivers seat is fine. The dash, doors, headliner, etc, all presentable but not perfect. The air blows ice cold and stereo makes noise. Apart from that, all pretty simple. It had a power inverter at some point, but I don't believe so anymore. mechanical The truck runs and drives quite well. It has excellent power and is geared low. These V10s are quite torquey and far more responsive than the 7.3s which are great trucks, but they're noisy, get comparable fuel economy with something this big, and they're expensive to maintain. This truck did have the transmission overhauled at some point, but it's been a few years. It does shift perfectly now. The oil and filter are new. The brakes are good both front and rear, hoses are fine, and the motor runs quiet. The truck does have some seepage underneath, no major leaks, but it does look a bit damp underneath. This is to be expected with the mileage. The steering is fairly tight and tires suggest the ball joints are in decent shape. The truck is pretty easy to drive as far as I'm concerned, I had it out for about 15 minutes on a test drive. The power takeoff works fine and pumps fluid. The crane is not currently operational. We've gone to great length to diagnose the problem and have confirmed all the diagnosis with Autocrane mechanics direct. The controller board on the unit needs replacing if you want to use the crane. The air compressor works, pto is pumping fluid, and there's fluid getting back to the unit, but the crane is inop. The controller board is approx $850. Part number is 480537000 if you'd like to try and find one yourself. We can order and install one for you if you like, at cost. Other than that I can find no mechanical faults with the truck. It's in good shape and fine to drive anywhere. This rig will be quite expensive to ship just in case you're wondering, probably better to fly/drive in and drive home. comments This is a neat truck and a rare find. Just because you are the high bidder doesn't mean you have the vehicle reserved. EBay allows us the option of ending auctions early because all vehicle are for sale at any point during the auction.
