Vehicle Detail
My 1976 CB750K dressed up in 1971 colors...paint from vintagehondapaint...i took this bike into a zillion little pieces and started either replacing or restoring whatever i deemed fit to replace..for starters,i had the frame and swingarm powdercoated black by Millers Powdercoating here in town..replaced the stock swingarm bushings with bronze ones..blasted or sanded all the motor mounts and brackets and repainted them..lots of brand new hardware,I.E engine mounting bolts, stainless Phillips head screw kit in engine covers and valve cover..up front i installed tapered roller bearings in the steering head. The engine is stock, aside from some fresh paint and a major tune-up.I did purchase new points and condensers off Ebay but i didnt like the way they worked(pretty cheezy stuff) so i reinstalled the original points and it worked fine. The seat was recovered by a local reupholstery shop with a Honda Ascot single donating its foam..i reshaped the inside of the foam to fit the CB750 seat pan so the seat still opens and closes like stock..The rear fender was bobbed shorter and the 1971 tailight was cut down and painted black to match the look i was seeking.Front fender was from Carpy,i modified a CB360 fender bracket to fit so it sat down closer to the tire(the fender was designed for a 19" wheel, the front wheel is now 18")..speaking of which, both wheels are aluminum and were painted to match the bike, the front being a 2.15 " width and the rear 3.5"...rear wheel has heavy stainless spokes..New Pirelli Sport Demons with very few miles are on it,ready to go.The shocks you see on it turned out to be far to stiff and have been replaced with some stock Nighthawk shocks at the time of this listing, theyre chrome bodied in good shape.Up front the forks were replaced with tubes from a CB750F,about 1 inch longer but they went into the CB750K lower tubes with no problem and i poured in some fresh fork oil.I installed the min-blinkers and they function as they should.New Battery installed. All lighting and charging systems work as designed as well as all the switches.New Air filter..new rubber boots that go between the carburetors and airbox..The exhaust was handmade and has been Ceramic coated..the carburetors have 4 new overhaul kits installed in them..then synchronzied with vacuum guages..the instruments were all repainted as well as the handlebar switches..New Superbike handlebars were mounted and holes cut to run the wiring through the handlebars..i did modify a CB360 clutch cable to work as the stocker was just far to long and looked, for the lack of any other word, stupid. So i changed it.The master cylinder polished, rebuilt and braided Russell brake lines were installed too.New Handgrips.New throttle cables.New Speedometer and tachometer cables installed.Speed bleeder valve installed in front caliper.Brand new Honda OEM fuel petcock installed. As you can see in the pictures there is no chrome trim piece on the bottom of the fuel tank, none were available at the time so i just left it off. I entered the bike in the *Vintage*class at a local motorcycle show in Feburary and won a second place trophy, got beat out by a guy with a Ariel Square four..regardless,it went over well and the judges were very complimentary towards the overall concept in general. I put alot of time into this bike and hopefully you will get the same enjoyment out of owning it as i did building it.The mileage showing on the Odometer now reads 13,327 or so..hardly broken in.I chased down any problems and repaire them, you will be hard pressed to find a cleaner example of a CB750 out there..im sure there is better but you wont be disapointed..if you want to come by and see it and hear it be my guest, just email me and i will call you or you can call me.I prefer local pickup with CASH..AMERICAN DOLLARS.. A small Paypal deposit will be required that is non refundable..so please, look at all the pictures, ask any quesstions BEFORE bidding..theres probably something i ommitted from this description so if you think of ANYTHNG just ask..no problem.I have a clear title for the bike too. In review.. Powdercoated frame and swingarm Engine repainted Major Tune up Stainless braided brake lines Ceramic coated exhaust New Tires(Pirelli Sport Demons,18" frt. and rear) Modified stock seat Superbike Bars New Battery, spark plugs, oil and filter, air filter Rebuilt forks Aluminum wheels Bronze swingarm bushings Tapered Roller Bearings in Triple trees Stainless Steel Allen head bolts in Engine Covers and lots of tiny bits i cant remember right now..like i said, any questions just ask,im trying to make some room in my work area here and i have other bikes that i will be selling soon too(2 K0 750's,a 71,73,74 and 75 i think along with some Kawasakis and a SL125).. No frame brackets or any part of the frame was cut or modified so this could easily be put into original form with the right pieces.. Thanks for looking!
